    Garang Kuol

Most sites say he’s got a work permit now.
  5. “Claudio Reyna, the current sporting director of Austin FC, and Berhalter have a relationship that spans decades. They played youth and high school soccer together, their respective U.S. national team careers overlapped from 1994 to 2006, and their wives -- Danielle Reyna (née Egan) and Rosalind Berhalter (née Santana) -- were four-year teammates at the University of North Carolina.” “In June, Berhalter told the "Gab & Juls Show" that when Gio was as young as 12 or 13, he had the sense watching the youngster that Gio would have a future in sports, noting that he was an exceptional soccer and basketball player. "Now as the national team manager it turns into a different relationship, but the connection is always there. The bond is always there," Berhalter said. "Our families are very close. Very good friends and in Gio there are moments where I look at him and -- putting him on the field or something. It's so familiar. You're looking at something that is so familiar to you and that's such a great feeling. It's almost like you're putting a family member in the game. That's been really fun." https://www.espn.com/soccer/united-states-usa/story/4844539/reynas-told-us-soccer-about-past-gregg-berhalter-domestic-violence-incident-sources
  6. Agree to disagree. I’ve seen him have a couple of decent games and score the odd decent goal, but the vast majority of his time otherwise seems to be running aimlessly, passing sideways and backwards incessantly, and shouting lots whilst doing not much himself. Oh, and not making himself available for the ball. But yeah, we’ll leave it there. I think the vast majority here would be disappointed with him as a signing, IF it ever came to it. from April 2022: “And while a desire to win and play for United is necessary, the real gap between United and their rivals is the quality of players in key positions. The very fact McTominay is a regular starter is a key example of this. In the first half against Arsenal, the midfielder only completed seven passes (24 by the end of the game at a completion rate of 71 per cent); that doesn't really look like understanding the fundamentals. In comparison, Juan Mata played for 11 minutes and completed 10 passes. This would be understandable if McTominay's defensive work was exemplary but he gave the ball away on multiple occasions outside the box and invited pressure upon the United defence.” https://www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/mctominay-united-solskjaer-rangnick-midfield-23770000?int_source=amp_continue_reading&int_medium=amp&int_campaign=continue_reading_button#amp-readmore-target
  7. Issues more mental? Like stop hiding from the ball and prevent yourself from being passed to? The bloke is mid level at very best. He ‘tries’ and puts some flying tackles in as an excuse for ‘pashun’ but he really seems limited to be honest.
  8. Nickson was sat with Fresneda’s agent watching the game. It doesn’t sound like just a scouting trip.
  9. https://targetscouting.com/2022/12/19/alan-varela-boca-juniors-scout-report/ sign him up- sounds perfect.
  10. Came through an Argentine academy (the Boca one?) which Barca financially support in exchange for first refusal on players. They’ve previously seemingly looked at him as a Xavi/Busquets replacement but have hesitated on the fee.
  11. “FIFA will ask every country in the world to name a stadium in honour of Pele, its president Gianni Infantino said on Monday.”
  12. It’s similar to what half the forum are saying, in fairness.
  13. I guess there’s zero guarantees, but you’d think he’d know before his contract actually ran out whether or not clubs would be interested, and what kind of wages they’d be offering.
  14. Of course he’d get larger wages- that’s the whole point of footballers running their contract down, no? They can spend a smaller percentage of cash on the wages rather than an inflated transfer fee?
  15. With six months left on his contract, you also wonder whether Tielemans would actually want to leave right now, knowing that he’d get a huge signing on fee and larger wages being a free agent in the summer.
  16. Fallen out with Simeone and they can get decent money for him.
  17. Another reason why I think he’ll be off to Arsenal and not us.
  18. Currently on £120kpw and was allegedly wanting £200kpw last summer to sign elsewhere.
  19. Or neither and two other players instead?
  20. Dont really know about Tielemans (although he doesn’t particularly seem to do much running/pressing/sprinting when I watch him) but there are plenty of players who have retired many years before Messi and Ronaldo because their fitness/legs have gone- you can hardly use those two absolute elite athletes to argue your point!
  21. IF they pay what his club are demanding. They’ll probably get it sorted, but the valuations are quite far apart at the moment I think?
  22. Ginger Pirlo to get the winner…?
  23. I can’t remember- did we go for him before, or was it just fan speculation?
