D'yall think Glasner will be allowed to leave Palace for them at this juncture? Reports out there indicate he'd be keen.

Looks like a slightly more forward version of Tonali, good engine and just bulldozes his way into the box. Nice to have a buddy for wor Sandro too.

Woltemade only wants to go to Munich. The only ones who have been reported to be "available" at this point (and are of acceptable "quality") are Sorloth, Hojlund, and possibly Openda (for enough money). Ok Hojlund is stretching the limits of "acceptable quality". But between Hojlund, Jamie Vardy, and nee fucker - who would you all have?

Injured. And the problem with someone from outside the Premier League is that Howe will take a great deal of time to slowly ease them in. As much to relieve the pressure of immediately having to perform (see Sesko now at ManU), as well as to get them drilled into our patterns of play. This is why we seem to be "Premier League-proven or nothing" in our approach. With Isak on strike, we need to get strikers who can immediately be comfortable with the League, and not suffer from a loss of confidence when they don't immediately live up to their hype. Ekitike notwithstanding, who seems to be a very confident player.

Saddest thing is that, after he left us, Wood has become by far the most clinical finisher in the league. I’d have him back in a heartbeat.

Frees up Gordon for his preferred role upfront.
-
Wait what? Why bother to on-board him if his main backer has gone? Jeez.

We hired the data nonce from Atalanta for that express purpose, one would think. The only thing is that the club really wanted to consolidate its position after a really good season, so we're going for the "safe bets" while we had some money to spend. Just didn't work out because every club richer than us were after the exact same players.

Even then, the conditions of a sale would probably not have been met. Money plus two strikers is what we are commonly hearing. Money alone won't be entertained. And right now we are so far down the list of strikers that we'd be extremely lucky to land our Callum Wilson replacement by next Tuesday, much less the Isak one.

It's a catch-22 situation which is messed up beyond belief. It shouldn't be the job of the coach, nor the club owners to plan and oversee the implementation of a transfer strategy. And if Isak indeed hinted quite early on that there'd be a saga, the prerogative would have been to get that group of senior executives in ASAP to handle it. Now we're managing the Isak situation badly in the absence of the very group of execs who are supposed to deal with the matter, and because of that we can't bring in the execs lest they be tainted by the fiasco.

He had the second-highest shot conversion rate in the PL last season. Behind....Chris Wood. But seriously he scores with one out of four shots taken. https://www.statmuse.com/fc/ask?q=best+conversion+rate+premier+league+strikers+2024-25 And in a team with the 16th most shots in 24/25. https://www.statmuse.com/fc/ask?q=teams+most+shots+allowed+per+game+24%2F25+premier+league He'll score if he comes here.

Speaking of "distorting the market", I kept beating the drum of how if Florian Wirtz cost 116.5 million, then Isak is easily 150million to Liverpool. After watching the match, I've changed my mind. If Florian Wirtz is 116.5 million pounds, Isak is 200 million. Liverpool have already distorted their own market, the fools.

More likely Chelsea signs Emegha next year and bombs Delap to us at a profit, to be honest.

Our club statement would put paid to any Romano shenanigans with regard to "waiting for doors to open" I hope. "No sale until conditions are met. We do not foresee those conditions being met." is as unequivocal as it can get. Subtext being that they bid enough (and Liverpool ought to be well clear what is "enough"), and we get more than one striker through the door. None of those will be met, no matter what huff Isak throws.
