Frustrating to see Man City suddenly wake up and sign everyone under the sun when we’re “keeping our powder dry” and worrying about losing our top players, like. I was expecting there to be an Oil State dick-measuring contest when we were bought. Now they’re able to get Khusanov and Marmoush and Vitor Reis whilst under charges?

"Queefen", essentially the Celtic "Kevin".
-
Err, yes, purportedly a release clause of eighty million Euro…..so there is that.
-
Reports of our scouts at the Portuguese League Cup game to watch Sporting's Ousmane Diomande - 21-year-old CB, huge physical player who tackles high up the pitch and is a superb passer of the ball - almost like a hybrid of Botman and Schar. Really hope we're in for him instead of going back to Guehi.

Great news.

I see Anthony Gordon snuck in a “we’ve got to stay humble” remark in the post-match interview. Wonder if it was a subtle dig at Arteta.
-
The Lino is just there. How was this given? @Hanshithispantz ref your post in the Officiating thread.

Fuckin love BDB waiting for him and putting his arm around him there. There’s quality leadership amongst a fair few of our squad now. Really enjoying this.

Who’s on yellow cards that would miss them a final if they cop another one in the return leg? Big Joe, Gordon and Tino? This two- card rule is a farce.
-
Milan cashed in because they obviously knew he was going to cop a lengthy ban. Worked out well for all parties ultimately.
-
Love it that we were also patient and stood by him in the entire year he got banned (although we’d likely be in Europe this season had he played). A few of these players have greater affinity for the club, either through the club being there for them (Tonali); or transforming them (Joelinton, who made the Brazil squad under Howe); or giving them a better stage (Gordon, Isak, and Bruno); or developing them really patiently and well (Hall). I know it’s naive to assume that players “owe” their clubs any loyalty in this day and age, but it certainly helps that Newcastle United are actually well-run, excellently managed, and has quite quietly built a properly united team that seems to love playing for the club. I mean….just look at this…
-
Same situation with Rashford - it's not the quality of the player (lol); it's not whether ManU wants to jettison them - but if you're earning 200K to 300K per week, you won't take a pay cut and Newcastle won't break our wage structure for Antony, of all players.

Kubo joined Sociedad 19 July 2022, Isak joined us about a month later. Not sure if they played any matches together, but quite certain they haven't spent a great deal of time together.
-
The entire continent will be after him if he is available, for starters
-
Can Man City buy him back (for 30 mil apparently) and then attempt to immediately flip him for 150 mil?
-
If that's a pen, then Kulu on Gordon was definitely a pen.
-
How’s his distribution?
-
I'd expect if we score first, then it'd be much like Manure where we'll go on to win it by 2 or 3. We'll then manage the intensity to save our energy for Arsenal.
-
Wonder if there are any stats on "assists to an assist" out there. He must rank amongst the top.
-
Didn’t realise Liam Delap is only 21. Looks a real handful, hard working and tenacious, would be a great pickup for us as a second striker if Ipswich fail to stay up.
-
I love it that the opposition fans regard it as cringey, but that it means so much to our travelling support.
-
Who knows? This could be his "Anthony Gordon subbed as a sub" moment and he'll be mint....next season.

I'd toy with the idea of putting Tino as RCB (speed and right-footed) and Tripps as RB for the Spurs match. Son is deadly on the break and Tino seems best suited to deal with him.
