His English translated name is actually the very prosaic Freddy Church, as was his dad Henry Church.

What are the odds on Paqueta getting injured in the second minute?
-
He heeds the ball really hard.
-
Maddison's been....ok. But he's definitely not looking like a Howe-type player. Odd, given that we were supposedly after him for two transfer windows. Plays a neat ball, then ambles into position.

I caught a glimpse of Mason Mount and genuinely thought "wait, when did he get subbed on?"
-
Early days. but unless they spend their Kane money on Osimhen or something, Spurs are gonna struggle to score. Fulham and Spurs have built their teams around great goalscorers who have left and they're feeling it hard.

Bruno F not cursing into the ref's face after a possible penalty not given must be one silver lining out of these new rules, like.

Bournemouth are so slow and tentative in the final third, its frustrating to watch. Liverpool is fantastic on the break, but their midfield just looking uncomfortable so far. Without Salah, they'd be mid-table.

https://theathletic.com/4786779/2023/08/18/mason-greenwood-manchester-united-charities/ You see, it's all well and good to have a well-thought-out strategy to reintegrate a player like Mason Greenwood....but listing a "series of domestic abuse charities assumed to be "hostile"" probably shouldn't be in that strategy. If this proves to be true, he's toast. ManU's PR team has totally fucked this from beginning to end.

Ooh my deepest apologies. Didn't cotton on that he's Irish!

I read somewhere that we are always on the lookout for such opportunities as and when they present themselves, so, fingers crossed. Lewis Hall, Lewis Miley, Alex Murphy, Elliott Anderson, Cole Palmer, Anthony Gordon, Harvey Barnes, Livramento. All potential England players right there. Especially in a Howe system. With Howe coaching.

Ticks every box in our transfer playbook - young, English, technically competent, two-footed, versatile

If we're being linked with AC Milan centre-back Malick Thiaw....chances are that it's a smokescreen for our pursuit of Inter Milan centre-back Alessandro Bastoni

Mitrovic to Al-Hilal according to chicken man. Imagine Neymar....and Mitro. https://twitter.com/RudyGaletti/status/1691228764116590592?s=20

Been going on since December 2021 at least lol. https://www.shutterstock.com/editorial/image-editorial/newcastle-united's-fabian-schar-gets-kick-head-13853443w

Ryan Fraser being cleaned out by Ederson in our match with Man City in Dec 2021, and Schar being almost decapitated by Whiny Bruno when we beat Manu just two recent examples of “it’s not a foul if violence occurs against attackers in the box if the ball is out of control”. VAR didn’t even look at those I don’t think, definitely not for the Schar one.

I am desperately hoping that my theory of “young footballers who instantly land a 250k per week, nine-year contract will suffer immediate demotivation “ holds true. Especially when there’ll be 30 other young footballers sharing the locker room with you.

His "Brazil Scout" attributes: Position: RW - LW - CAM Preferred Foot: Left Weaknesses: Weak Foot Yeah, we already got one of those types, thanks.

The downside to this transfer fee arms race is that every half-decent talent playing in the PL (and soon the continent) is going to cost us a lot more money than it used to, compared to even a year ago. We're lucky we'd kind of sorted out our front six. We'd be quoted 100 mil for Tonali if we'd gone in for him this week (and Chelsea will then outbid us anyway).
-
Presumably the pre-set purchase price will also be a fraction of the 62 million pounds they paid Brighton for him too. In summary, Chelsea will have to take a massive loss, and Cucu a massive pay cut for this to work. Really can't see this happening.
-
Cucurella must be on a fair wedge at Chelsea....because Chelsea.

"No thanks to Canucks." is one reason.

First assist for us yesterday?

I must've watched the extended highlights on Youtube a dozen times already. Loved the celebrations for the second Isak goal at the Gallowgate. There was a lass in a wheelchair with her da, and thoroughly enjoying herself. Brought a tear to my eye. Two players who people attribute to having a "quiet/poor" game - Miggy and Bruno - both actually did very well where it counted. Either were involved in the goals, or made Villa shit themselves with the attacking intent. Everyone was good yesterday. even Burn.
