  1. It's actually some stupid hand gesture "invented" by an online streamer by the name of "Sketch", who looks a total wrong'un. All the big American sports stars are doing it now for some unknown reason. It's supposed to mean "What's up, brother." https://www.sportingnews.com/us/mlb/news/whats-brother-sketch-celebration-explained-mlb-nfl-nba-pga/7a54868dcd3abf7a191e18e6

"Lads, it was Kalvin Phillips lol".
  4. The way we're shipping goals just illustrates how critical Pope is to our system, tbf. Dubs doesn't have the reach and isn't fully committed enough to the sweeper role to be effective.
  5. Perfect Mel Brooks joke there.

    Joelinton

https://dubz.co/v/rr7s3z Just realised the commentator called him "Linton" as in "Joe Linton".
  7. We ought to be looking at Lille’s right winger Zhegrova rather than at David. He’s class.
  8. We should be keeping an eye out for the "Kosovan Almiron", Edon Zhegrova, if Howe insists on his inverted right wingers. Kid is 24, playing for Lille. Very much like Miggy, but with the added advantage of being actually able to cross the ball when the need dictates. Good shot and good engine on him too. He'd be Howe-d into becoming an excellent winger for us.
  9. Nunez is dreadful apart from when he's playing us.
  10. Love me a player like Gyokeres, hard to find players like him anymore, an old-school John Hartson regen.

He literally looks like a child in his Premier League profile photo. Makes me feel like this gif
  12. Them winning the game would mark the end of the season for players and fans, their pinnacle for the season. They'll then take their foot off the pedal for the remainder of the run-in and drop down the table. Post-"NETD" complacency is a thing for them. There's no net positive outcome in this match-up at all for them, in the long term.
  13. Guirassy is 27 though, which doesn’t really fit our profile. We’d be looking for a younger version of Wilson rather than an older version of Isak, imho.
  14. Rashford literally walking back after Livramento had squirted away from him early in the second half (in the build up to Joelinton's soft shot) was embarrassing and hugely frustrating if I were a Manu fan. I'd have thought he was gassed after Galatasaray, but no, he didn't even play that match. What was that match where Gordon sprint-chased someone who nicked it off him, ran 80 yards at full-tilt to make a tackle? Rashford was the opposite of that.

Again, an imperious missile launch to Big Jow (who actually did superbly to bring it down and play it, given the horrible driving rain), which ended in the goal. Commentators miss the entire move because of the controversy at the end, but it was a lush transition.
  17. Love the match cams, so much to unpack. The look Miggy gives to Willock with the pursed lips and the tiniest flick of the chin - "G' on then". The really angry Man U fan flipping the Vs, then the wanking gesture and then double Vs at Lewis Hall's celebration. Gordon drawing the defender in to give Willock just half a second of space to take one more step and shoot. Really drives home how quick the modern game is and how fine split-second margins can make or break a game. Bruno in his yellow vest huddling and high-fiving everyone who joined in Miggy's celebration.
  18. I’d say West Ham away would also have been as bad as Chelsea.
  19. We started the match with six fullbacks Insane.
  20. Matty Longstaff. Central Midfield. Bring him hyem.
  21. Julian Draxler appears sick of the Middle East. He could do with a cheeky loan move to the North East of England…

I was thinking his pass to Wilson was similar to Willock's to Isak vs Spurs, so I re-watched the 6-1. I was wrong, Willock's was breathtakingly sublime. One of the best passes I have seen in my life.

Just realised he made a run into the centre-forward position after passing the ball to Wilson, dragging the Palace right-back to cover him and leaving the back post totally open for Wilson (who also made an immense run), and Gordon (who scored). Such a beautifully worked play, and a defender who bursts into the box threw Crystal Palace's backline organisation into total disarray.
