Don’t forget the mystery 16.6 million pound signing, which may be Mavididi
-
Seems like we like really tall guys who are comfortable on the ball. What with Wood, Burn and this kid, our set penises will be really exciting with Trippier and Bruno crossing them in.
-
He’s not really a Henry or Trezeguet type of player. A lanky streak of piss at 1.9 metres tall, he likes to dribble in from the left and take a pop shot on his right foot. Not very quick but tricky for a really tall guy. Seems like he operates in Saint Maximins preferred position, so hopefully we ease him in by subbing him on when we are comfortably ahead. St Max-Wood-Lingard would be a good enough frontline, if we get Lingard.
-
We must be seeing a ton of potential in him to be talking about a 30 mil fee. He’s 19, lanky and looks like he could be snapped in half by the likes of Maguire, and has only hit a streak of goalscoring form recently (tbf he’s 19). I hope we really give him a nice, easy bedding in, lest he end up like Viana or Tomasson.

Isn’t that Galatasaray Centre Back a bit shit?
-
Oh goddamn yes, it was Osimhen indeed! Cheers!
-
Apologies, I could've sworn it was mentioned when I was reading about him a couple days back. Seems like a 12 million loan fee and 14 on top when he signed permanently from Samp!
-
Always gonna happen when you offer 43mil pounds for a player Atalanta bought for 70 million Euros, to be fair

The Mirror (lol) seems to think we’ve gone in for a last-ditch attempt to get Botman. I don’t see it happening given that a) It’s the Mirror, b) it’s too late in the window for replacements, c) they’re playing Chelsea next. But sure, blow them out of the water with a huge bid for shits n giggles.
-
Bears repeating that our chances of stealing both of Atletico’s fullbacks in the same window remains slim, at best.

Stephy Mavididi has had an interesting career, and he’s only 23. Arsenal youth to Juves B squad to Montpelier, with a smattering of loans all over the place. He must be mature beyond his years. I can’t imagine what I was up to at that age, but it sure as hell wasn’t playing football in France and Italy
-
Even if the logic of clubs needing to get replacements in holds true, there would still be excellent players out there where the clubs obviously are eager to ship them out - Aaron Ramsey, Dembele, Lingard. I'd happily take them on on deadline day - we'd just need to structure some sort of wage-sharing structure.

Move at once to North East Asia, they got the whole week off because of the Lunar New Year

I don't even think we've spent that much in ALL the Ashley-era windows put together

On the one hand, I agree that it’s good and sensitive management practice. On the other, if Lascelles and Shelvey exhibit obvious flaws that keep costing us points, I’d expect a manager to be savvy and adaptable enough to make the hard choices to improve the squad and the game. I’d be seething if the Botman and Carlos double deals were realised early on, only to see Lascelles run through treacle come mid March, for example. But fair enough, Eddie seems to have incrementally improved the way we play as a unit.
-
Eddie is surprisingly loyal to his favourites, so it’d take an injury to Shelvey to see him dropped, much like Lascelles.
-
A very good CB (someone quicker than Dan Burn), plus someone who can occupy the right hand side of a forward 3 in place of Fraser would be the bare minimum to shoot for safety IMHO. Attainable if we don’t worry about getting shafted over fees.
-
Guimares is the very definition of a ball-winning, deep-lying playmaker. In an ideal world, he replaces Shelvey and another midfielder comes in to run onto through balls and advance the play into the box. Get Aaron Ramsey in on loan and Joelinton - Guimares (sitting deeper) - Ramsey will easily see us safe. Look at that chart a couple pages back and you will know that Shelvey should never be a starter for a Premier League club.
-
Makes me wonder how Eddie is going to line up in midfield, especially in a 4-3-3. Joelinton - Shelvey - Bruno? Shelvey is undroppable in his eyes, and yet offers zero protection to his backline.
-
Assuming Dan Burn is a goer, we'd have Trippier, Wood, Guimares, Burn, + another (Lingard?). Would it be enough to ensure safety?
-
Maybe we're bringing Ayoze home?
-
How many mid-20s Brazilian midfielders do we need?
-
Doesn't look like our style to take on ageing superstars to be fair..either aging players who are still good, or have something to prove, or under the radar/underrated younger stars. Can't see PEA or Bale.
-
An odd one this - we seemed well in for him, then it all went cold, and now West Ham is on the verge of signing him for not a whole lot of money?
