Well there is that but I was just pointing out there are footballing reasons too

I think the feeling is that he hasn't really done enough to warrant either the acclaim he gets from pundits or how he comes across as feeling he is a too good for this. The latter could be entirely misplaced and unfortunate. Getting his managerial start at Derby felt a bit high up, then Spygate happens which I think most think Frank was unjustified in how furious he was in retrospect. It was unfortunate that Chelsea came knocking when they did, it was too early. He maybe didn't do terribly considering circumstances, but Tuchel's very quick turning them around did show they were underperforming under him in his last season. It is difficult to hold struggling at Chelsea against a manager mind, always plenty of behind the scenes madness there. He then goes to Everton with the air of not wanting to go to a club fighting relegation then not realising they were. He still seems to be unable to sort out a defence but they have had a lot of injuries. Compare with say Thomas Frank who was appointed at Brentford at 2018 and is still there without so much of a whisper of anyone suggesting poach him, and yet Lampard got linked everywhere and ushered into a premier league institution or two? I think that's why he's disliked a bit.

Christ imagine turning nose up at signing an england midfielder who helped us to our first europpean final for donkeys 12 months ago...Not saying wrong, I really like Philips but you could be right and for once I am not too worried if we miss someone we will try and sign someone else rather than the old 'well at least we tried' attitude.

wtf was that from rondon haha
-
yeah need a defender who can play high. Tarkowski feels...a backwards step, unless it is to replace lascelles as backup if he is off, but doubt that.

Trying to restore her reputation from wagatha christie through court is madness. Going to court is rarely a good idea and when you look guilty as sin doubly so. #teamcolleen

On saying that i as someone who is unhappy with the owners should walk away from club i will say i may if things get really bothersome like full on mbs worship on the pitch before games or something but i am only really going from my gut feeling of if i still love this club. I didn't have a choice in who owns is, i still love almost everything about it. I will not accept this as ideal though it defend the owners. Football as a whole is disgracefully corrupt and i be hope one day the club is actually owned by the fans as are all clubs.
-
This, totally understand not caring, god there's enough going on in the world to not want to worry about who owns the club, please want people to enjoy it. I don't want people to think me fretting that I wish football clubs weren't political footballs owned by states is meant as an attack on them but I guess it comes across that way.

Joelinton robbed

Are Man United owned by Russia and is the point of the kit to advertise Russia? I understand you don't want to care, really don't mind you just enjoying the football, but that whataboutery is needless lol

I think one of the problems is that a lot of media personalities feel (and are told) that in order to stand out and do well you need to have very strong 'opinions' or steaming hot takes or whatever and be very belligerent about it, and therefore get lots of responses either agreeing or angry the other way. If someone is by and large moderately sensible and not totally clinically insane therefore prolonged exposure that may be be likely to come accross and you can smooth over the absurd takes. My only arena of coming accross Simon Jordan is him being quoted on here saying something stupid or possibly other way around), therefore I build up an assumption on him that's largely unfair. I would say I would like a media arena where people aren't encouraged to "stir the pot" as I am sure is mentioned in meetings but maybe that would just be all boring where everyone basically agrees players are by and large ok, clubs should be better run and footballers do earn too much but it's not their fault repeated ad nauseam.

Oh I know, I have been very open about my conflicted feelings on the takeover. I guess it's kinda better it's out in the open. What I don't like is all the disingenuous responses people send that WHAT WE CANT WEAR GREEN NOW THAT LOOKS NOTHING LIKE SAUDI COLOURS crap. It's completely fine to be not bothered by it, but pretending it's not there so you don't have to say that? Anyway as ever I will chalk it to another uncomfortable thing among many in sport
-
Sigh worried with this if we will just became one big gaudy advertising board for Saudi Arabia after all. (the kit is actually really nice mind) but it's just an easy red flag for everyone.

Oh fuck we all know who rang his doorbell

I dunno there's such a thing as integrity and if he starts giving over stuff he's worked on with Brighton there's no reason to suspect he won't do the same thing to us for his next club. If I were the club and he offered to use his database while on gardening leave I would retract the job offer immediately. I'm not talking bit of advice here and there probably by the by but the scouting lists drawn up for Brighton? To me that's dishonesty and I'm sure it happens absolutely everywhere and always and it wouldn't come back on us, but you set standards from the top.

Not sure we can be sniffy over someone who has reliably banged in goals in the league before, but am concerned over injury record
-
Yes, though I do worry he might not have the mentality to be a squad player rather than an instant starter. Sulked a fair bit about Rafa dropping him and when he did get a game wasn't at his best at all. I hope we upgrade him, and if he has the right mentality would be happy for him to be in squad, but might be sensible to see if can get some money for him too.
-
What you talking about Bruno G is waaaay better
-
I dunno actually. He did do a few games ok, but that was also with players coming back from injury. He has tried to dramatically change how they play and in this sharp end of the season the team seem ready to crumble and mentally weak. I question if a classic pfm just gonna sort the defense out style appointment might actually have been better.

Lost respect for Marsh with his inspirational quotes crap, as if spouting martin luthor king in a dressing room will do much. ted lasso indeed.
-
Yeah I get that but I dunno fail to make big impression in first 10 games you're out there and then everyone knows you as a flop who was a bit a twat to a prior club.
-
Have to think, he'd have other championship offers surely, no point going to Watford you ain't going to last long and you're going to look a fool
