In fairness they do have Bob Dylan in defence, he's presumably quite slow at this point
-
Hmmm was expecting Joelinton to get rested since heard he's carrying a few knocks. We shall see if that team can do something but I fear we arent going to score anything
-
So wait the reason it is taking time is them talking to charities about donating it to them? I work at a charity, here is how long the conversation would last "would you be interested in this pile of money we have collected?" "is it from putin or jack the ripper?" "no" "yes please"
-
Gotta keep momentum going, would be annoyed if we we were on teh beach. Having said that it's weird being on gameday and there being absolutely no tension in the air isn't it? Would love another win mind.

I'm not quite sure they will, their financial situation seems pretty dire. Need to offload a lot of that squad, it is really awful
-
Might go back to Juve i guess too, boomerang of a player
-
For the record i don't hate Everton mainly cos very good mate is big everton fan so always discussing stuff. He has been convinced they are going down for a while and I have always been naaaah sure you're better than 3 teams but alas now having to concede looking kinda dire

I dunno, maybe I'm pessimistic but I don't think we'll be quickly at a level where ASM isn't potentially a game changer for us, he is no doubt one of the most gifted wingers in the league still in some ways but he is definitely frustrating. I never liked the slating he got under Bruce at times when as poor as he could be he was at least the only way we were ever going to get up the pitch at all. It feels like he's always either brilliant or awful in everyones eyes whereas he's been frequently middling. He often has a frustrating game and yet is crucial in moves leading up to goals still. I think there is a difficulty, if we are playing on the counter, like we were under Bruce, he can be brilliant because the whole team couldnt fucking pass so we just relied on ASM to get the ball once a game and run through opposition who were all overcommited up the pitch as they thought these twats are useless we are going to win this easy no need to defend. Now we are pressing higher and pushing up the pitch he struggles because teams are putting effort into defending him and he has way less space to run into. I am thinking about how Guardiola used to use Sterling really wide on the left to drag defenders out of the position and then the left back and the left midfield would pile into the vacated space, I wonder if that is what should be going on in future. I just think we needs to be not reliant on him so he is less frustrating and then see about if Howe can coach him back to his best, where he's beating the last man in a defence rather than getting lost in a cul de sac

we could lose every game left and no chance we are down.
-
I thought Chelsea would be closer to them too but not so much
-
Thing is all this talk of big six etc makes it sound like man u and teams competing for last champions League spot are close to Liverpool and man city when i think quite a clear quality gap had developed between them and the rest. In quality think man United are probably closer to us than to Liverpool. It's what comes from sensible smart stable management with very good recruitment all working in same direction
-
Crazy to think I may never get the chance to make this joke again for the forseeable future. (Well until we're all unbearably entitled mega club fans whinging when we've only spent £100m in a transfer window)
-
Yeah they'd have to stay fairly defensive and the overloads would have to come from ASM drifting wide, in other words would need plenty of training ground work to get a formation to work to squeeze a player in with plenty of capacity for it to just not work. I think maybe pushing Joe out wide is maybe more sensible, or just seeing how Willock does and give Joe a rest. Not against just having him as a super sub either really.
-
Could consider the old diamond formation dubs Kraft Schar Burn Target Shelvey Bruno Joe Willock Wood ASM Obviously asks a lot of defensive work of the full backs which is the big problem
-
Would consider dropping Joelinton for him, but it would be harsh, Joelinton's performances are a little worse of late, maybe he's run himself into the ground a little so could be a reasonable rotation anyway. I am not sure on Willock as false 9 but maaaaybe as a winger but not ideal.
-
I dunno people sometimes think a centre mid could play a false 9 easily but I don't think it's quite so easy to suddenly get used to it. Willock's game is those runs from deep into the box, part of that being successful is having a striker or another player already in teh box pulling defenders, and equally someone up front to lay the ball off to him arriving. In false 9 we wouldnt have anyone to hold up play and defenders could mark him like a striker as there's no-one else there. The reason false 9s are rare is cos it's hard to do!
-
Oh god, awful
-
Would explain it in fairness
-
I suspect the kind of runs willock makes from the centre does benefit him as will draft defenders away from him. He needs to be more patient receiving the ball deeper to try and vary up what he is going to do.
-
I just mean in general not this game, he says it often when he loses. I am not being super critical, it is perfectly legitimate if he thinks his team responds better to that praise but it is quite funny at times
-
Seems there is a bunch of fans of all teams now who will boo anyone and anything for any reason. He was a good servant for a long time deserves no emnity. Wonder if it is the same people who booed him a lot when he was here, sometimes he was poor but his contribution was often underrated
-
Rodgers is king of the 'we were outstanding' after his team gets hammered
-
What was it they spent on pepe haha

I, one of the more miserable pessimistic twats am ready to call this 0 (rounded down from 0.3) would have to be freak circumstances like a point deduction at this point
