  1. I quite liked him and thought he wasn't ever suited to any of the systems we played. He was however sometimes piss weak when we needed him. Did alright at right back last season when had a chance mind. Good luck to him in the future
  2. Rooney to Everton been mentioned yet? Nice touch I guess to go back rather than off to China or such, however one has to question some of the romance when he has reportedly refused to take a pay cut, so it's going to be a loan move with each club paying half of his wages which is very odd. I wonder if it'll be the only loan move that stipulates he has to play for Everton against Man U, can't see him being so much better than anyone there he will be first choice anyway assuming they get a Lukaku replacement
  3. He definitely plays up that he's just a bloke etc I don't think it's likely a total act, I doubt he switches into a serious businessman at the drop of the hat. I think he certainly must have had enough nous, and a bit of shameless competitive greed to build his sports direct empire, taken every shortcut, done every dodgy deal and just brazened out that it's just a tacky chain of buy cheap sell cheap stack it high retailer and done it to the nth degree so it makes a lot of money. He certainly perhaps spotted that certain brands etc were basically undervalued and that there is money to be had there. I think a lot of retailers after hit some degree of success get full of themselves and start moving upmarket or diversifying as a matter of course. Ashley just found oh this makes money, lets just do it so much it'll make a lot more money.
  4. I will defer to others judgements, I thought he looked a lot more able than Colback. Having said that a shit on the pitch would look more able so bleh.
  5. I always thought Dummet looked more solid as a Centre Back than at left back. Not happy with offering him a new contract to be honest. I don't hate him too much, he just seems a workhorse without any outstanding qualities, he certainly isn't good enough on the ball to be helping out in attack.
  6. To be fair I'd be pretty upset if we signed him, he offers a whole myriad of reasons to hate him.
  7. Unless we're going currently trendy 3 at the back
  8. Is Lee Ryder hiding in the bushes filming that? Making bird noises to throw them off the scent?
  9. I would agree spending big on unknown quantities is a risk, not sure about Bakumbu, and it is about the right players. You pay extra for players who have done well for a few seasons on end in premier league, but you can rely on them. Sigurdson for example, not sure we ever did / do have a chance to pick him up, but sorry for guaranteed double figures goals and assists from midfield in the premier league is easily the difference between a good season and a bad one.
  10. I am of this opinion. It worries me how much creative burden he will have to carry next season. Signing a capable attacking midfielder should be an imperative in this window. This, while when he played well we played well in the championship he didn't play well for a substantial part of the season and we suffered a bit. He has plenty of time in premier league and has shown himself to hardly be top quality. Think he's done well but cannot carry the creative burden for the whole team.
  11. We pay the lowest prices in the league we run the risk of finishing lowest. I'm not saying spend big on every signing, indeed may only need 1 big signing but the market has changed with the biggest tv deal. I am not going to panic, most clubs haven't done business either but I am hardly brimming with excitement with what we have been linked with.
  12. Kinda think we may have signed more if Rafa had submitted first choice targets Bale, Mbappe, Ronaldo, Harry Kane, Messi and then put all his actual targets as second choice
  13. name them then, actual bids this summer Gruber Peeters Horvat Nielsen Martin Müller Rossi Silva To be fair for a minute I thought the 8 was the starting gun on next seasons relegationometer
  14. I think they're trying to stop all the players running into the box much to soon but this seems a mad way to stop that
  15. Should not be losing out to Stoke and Swansea. One thing players wanting to stay in london, another wanting to go to those shitholes playing for managers half as good as Rafa. Club needs to get its act together quick or we're back to the same old grind. All the positivity will be out the window.
  16. Young exciting defender? Unfortunately Man City etc have jacked up the price of CBs and we have to deal with it.
  17. I'm finding a lot of these targets a bit underwhelming if I'm honest, I wouldn't mind but do think we need to splash out on at least one proven quality player to build the squad around. What we seem to be doing seems a recipe for struggling next season with trying to fit new players into the squad. Spash out on Sigurdson and while it will cost a lot he guarantees goals and creativity. Then surround him with promising £10m sure. Hope I'm proven wrong, and I do trust Rafa but fear he's been told no paying more than £15m for any one player or something. Hope I'm wrong and we end up with a Cabaye like bargain but hmmmm.
  18. Hmm doubt it, think they definitely need a dominating midfielder. Bayern prolly have a few spare going.

    sunder↓and

He did keep them in the premier league for years
  20. Never seen much to suggest he's premier league quality to be honest
  21. IF true steer clear, clearly pathetically up his own arse having achieved zilch in his young career.
