Consider when he arrived no-one really rated him that well, he'd has his chance in the premier league and blown it, he had been sacked from southampton and been out of a job a while. If he'd blown that first half a season and been sacked again he would not have made it back to the premier league for a while I'll bet. Got a long contract as a statement of intent and shown he belongs here. He's impressed me by not just being a short term motivator like MON but bringing in players and integrating them keeping team spirit. He maybe has some improvement to go on tactically, he is infuriatingly reactive at times, but at has also improved over the course of the season and developed.

I'd prefer a prospect than Scholes, great as he is we need a team to gell and that takes time. I'd hope to get a band of players who are going to stay together (at least some of them) over the next few tournaments, instead of just flogging the dead horse of England from 8 years ago (that wasn't that good anyway).

I think the team should be picked with a view that it'll have some stability over the next few tournaments rather than trying to drag one more performance out of a team that never really did in the first place... Carrick is a metronomic passer yeah but there's a vast abscence of creativity there. I'd prefer solid back line with holdign midfielders and fast attacking players to hit on counter, rather than some hap-hazard midfield that tries to hold onto the ball further up the pitch. Feel a little harsh on Carrick there...but there's just...like watching a purely functional footballer.

I have patience with Richards, but lost it with Sturridge, he's been pretty poor recently of late and should perhaps be left behind.

FPPP is europe wide, it's a demand of entry into european competition. Inter are in huge trouble. Way too much money spent and way too little money made. They have ridiculous wages and so will struggle to sell on past it stars.

He's strong and enough of a tackler to be CBs against teams like Stoke, i doubt he could deal with intelligent passing etc.

I don't want Carroll in the team, even playing well as he is now that's fairly eratic and too confidence based for me to trust Roy Hodgson to get him motivated in time, needs more arm around the shoulder than you get at an international tournament, and anyway he'll conceed way too many fouls without the protection of premier league refing.

Hang on. Are you actually saying you'd happily play Barry and Cleverley but not Lampard and Parker? Not happy about Cleverly, and can see argument for Lampard. Don't like Parker, but that could be caused by being hyped so much I could go too far the other way.
