They are one of teams that have been royally f*cked by FFP i dont expect them to spend alot money..... more scout the world for as much talent for as little as possible and use thier youth system ( would be a first with them !) But they are not in the position to spend 20m+ on one player.

He has been benched at Lyon, he has been in very poor form for a very long time...... he's still living off the hype from his Porto days id rather we stay away tbh. Ability wise he is a quality LB. Id be happy if we got him but i think Pieters would be my 1st choice. Yh that's right but you are hoping the fact you can help him get back to his best level...... i know we did the same with Ben Arfa and look like we are on a similar track with Santon but i question now we are in the top 6 we will take the risk again? Talent wise he is a quality LB but mentally and physichally he has been stagnating for a while now..... Maybe a change of scenary could help him like it could be argued it did with Santon and Ben Arfa but i wonder if we are willing to take a big risk like that for the 3rd time.....

I know its a totally different scenario for both cases because they are better but Nasri went for 25m with 12 months running and Cahill went for 7m with 6 months to run...... I dont think having 12 months to run effects the price a great deal anymore ( atleast when it comes to english-based players) I know none of us rate him that highly and it could be argued for good reason but the hype he gets in the media could make a club like QPR ( if they stay up), West Ham ( if they come up), Villa, Stoke and maybe West Brom i could see paying that sort of money for Simpson.

Could they afford €50m? No way he would go for any less than that. They can afford it considering who owns Juventus but whether they would do it or not is another matter.

That's about what iam thinking and about 4-5m for Simpson purely because of the hype behind him.

Also if Best leaves i dont expect us to sign a high profile ( or higher) european forward to replace him with..... If he does go i expect us to go into the Championship for around a 1m tbh. Also with the hype around Simpson i would not be suprised at all if someone pays stupid money for him.

I would like to see Best stay but 8m for Best and Simpson would really be too much to turn down..... also we could do quite alot with 8m. BTW is Guthrie out of contract or do we expect a fee from him aswell? ( if he leaves which is looking quite likely)

I have spoken to a couple of french mates and they reckon all 12 of these foreign-based players are on the plane... The only one who could be a risk is Kaboul who they reckon will have competition from some french-based CB's but the rest are going no doubt about it. So they reckon anyway.

Personally no i will support NUFC players at the Euros over English players ( as i dont like hardly any of them) same goes if we face Holland and Krul plays i will support Krul over any english player. Club over country for me.

Yh i know man, i cant destroy your dreams i am just not sure i can see him replicating that level he showed at Bordeaux..... He has huge mental issues which would take alot to overcome, no doubt he's talented tho.
