  1. What? if anything 4-4-2 is more open against the top sides than 4-2-3-1 is..... most teams play 3 in midfield and 4-4-2 means we are outnumbered in midfield and offer f*ck all going forward..... The first goal came about because Yaya was free because no one was marking him because thier 2 CM's occupied our 2 Cm's which gave Yaya to space to do what he did. In 4-2-3-1 that would'nt have happened because its practically a 4-3-3 anyway. 4-4-2 is no more solid than the 4-2-3-1/4-3-3 infact if anything its less solid especially against teams that play 3 or more in midfield. Look how open Man Utd was in europe using the 4-4-2 ffs its an out-dated system i dont see a single advantage to playing it..... You want 2 positional excellent CM's in the middle? 4-2-3-1 provides that but not only that it actually allows to actually create going forward and does'nt force our best players to in thier own half all match. The only difference between the two is Jonas comes inside and Ba goes to left and Cabaye moves slightly more further forward and it allows to have more attacking fluidity while having defensive steel and balance. I do remind you that we won 6 in a row using this system while conceding one goal ( which was a defensive mix up between CB and GK ) and scoring 13 goals. It's not like its a gung ho system which makes us look defensively weak, one shit performance against Wigan does'nt change that. There is not a single advantage to playing 4-4-2, not one.
  2. Hoping QPR join Blackburn tbh...... Villa can go down next year after we beat them on the final day
  3. Luckily not all of them will be going
  4. As is Ben Arfa and practically all our attacking players bar Ba, which is why i find it baffling why theres any reason why we use it. Hopefully we'll only see it on the odd occasion next season, tbf it worked against Chelsea and I can see why he did it today. With better fullbacks the 4-3-3 is going to offer even more next season. Yh i agree on the odd occasion it can work against certain teams like Chelsea but more often than not i think 4-3-3 should be used and i would hope it will. Btw i agree on the corners part, they are f*ckin awful None the less, he's such a great player and truly an amazing bargain for 4.5m ffs and has showed this season what a complete midfielder he is..... he can press, tackle, intercept, pass, score goals..... and top it all off he's a sexy bastard
  5. Not sure if been posted or not but...... Vincent Kompany ‏ @VincentKompany Don't let the "big four" fool you, Newcastle are cormfortabely amongst the best in the league. No leaving St. James without bruises. #Fact Respect to a top class player

  7. Entirely depends on our attitude and the tactics and system we go in with...... if we go there to attack them and go back to 4-3-3 i reckon we will win.... if not then i reckon we will get a draw at best. Gonna be positive and go for a 3-1 win.
  8. Completely. We didn't lose because of tactics, we lost because of a cracking finish by Toure. That too but i felt the system was the wrong system to use against City...... thier tactics revolve around the centre so imo 4-3-3 would have been better to combat that and allow Jonas, Cabaye and Ben Arfa to play in roles they are more comfortable in...... Also i dont believe it would meant more space for City because 4-4-2 is far more open..... i personally believed we would have gave City more problems going forward if we went for 4-3-3 and it gives a defensive stability thant 4-4-2 doesnt. It worked great against Chelsea because of what sort of team they are but i think it was wrong to use today.
  9. We did mix it up true but we hit the long ball all game long, i dont remember many instances were we passed it like we can which is'nt suprising because 4-4-2 is cack when it comes to creativity, passing and movement which is why i dont like to see us playing it..... it only works for so long before you are found out. Wrong system and wrong tactics for me, but as i said as long as we learn from it i wont care too much.
  10. Yes, lets do the right thing and sell him to Arsenal. I don't say that. It's just a remark. Ben arfa was good today when he has the ball. Funny that, practically all our midfield and attack are better with the ball than without it..... yet for some reason we decided to hoof it up two front men and watch the ball just come back at us time and time again. Wrong tactics imo, if we went with something similar to Liverpool, West Brom, Stoke etc etc i think we might have more success. But it doesnt matter now i just hope we learn from it in the future.
  11. Bit hard when the majority of the attacks where flying over his head, for what possession he had he did well.
  12. Didn't see where he got it wrong tbh... They played as well as they could, Man City have a star studded team and played out of their skins... FFS... Still think 4-4-2 was the wrong thing to do to go against this City team...... thier game revolves around the centre. We played into thier hands by playing 4-4-2 imo but none the less its still a fantastic season and iam so proud of them.
  13. As much as Pardew got it right against Chelsea he got it terribly wrong today. Will go in to the last day with a chance of 4th if Spurs result stays the same.... But looks incredibly unlikely now. Great season none the less, well done lads
  14. Gotta love the booing btw Anyway they had alot of posession but barry goal mouth scramble aside they havent created a great deal..... If we can be a bit more calm in the 2nd half and pass it a little bit more and be less direct then i think theres a goal in this game for us...... but can we keep them out? Who knows but we can do this ! Come on !!!!
  15. That's my exact feeling aswell, a win would be just nuts.
  16. Monopoly is apt as Man City can spend as if they have monoploy money, I don't like Man U but I hope they win the title because I dislike them less than I dislike Man City. Indeed....... having said that i dont like either of them very much at all.
  17. Are PSV in contention to qualify then?
  18. They want Man U to win the league...... cant have the monopoly being broken up can they?
  19. Id accept £1 for him tbh.
  20. Not worried about that at all if theres one thing our defence is good at dealing with its set pieces.....
  21. I dont hate him, i just think he's the weak link and we can do much better with european football on the horizon and if Chelsea want to pay us 5m or so ( believe me i can see them being stupid enough to do it) to weaken themselves further then i say...... be my guest
