Using Liverpool players isnt a yardstick, but he was on top of tackles and interceptions for everyone in the league for a very long time. I dont understand this notion that he's just a decent player but if people disagree then fair enough its what this about. Differing opinions it would be boring if everyone had the same team.

Watch the performances between Liverpool now and Liverpool in october its night and day..... Also the reason i was considering for team of the year before his injury is because i wanted to pick a balanced team and IMO up until his injury he was the best DM in the league. Which is why i picked Arteta over the likes of Silva,Mata and Dempsey.

Ah, right, well now I know your selection criteria: Lindegaard Gardener, R Taylor, S Vidic Huddlestone Marveaux Fletcher Leiva Wilshire Holden Dyer, K Not quite fair, Lucas one of the best players in the league up until his injuries these players not so much Nice attempt tho...... Also yh Mata like Silva has been extremely inconsistent so i preferred Valencia and Bale. Also are we using stats to determine if a player is better than another one now? Alright, fair enough, stats don't tell the whole story but if we're gaugeing the performance of players over a season then they at least give some indication of what players are producing. I wouldn't say it's a coincidence that Rooney and RVP, who most folk on here have gone for in their teams for their strikers, are also the two top scorers in the league for instance. It's quite different when you compare goalscorers as thats thier job ( to score goals) obviously Rooney and RVP do more than that but thats thier primary function...... When comparing midfielders theres much more to consider than just who assisted more than other for example. I do except i was a bit with aggressive earlier with my post regarding the stats but i prefer to base a players performance that i see with my own 2 eyes than use stats to fuel my argument. As stats only tell you so much, the fact Simpson is one of the highest rated RB's in the league according to stats tells you that stats have major flaws. Also what is funny about Lucas he doesnt do anything flashy but he protects 4 extremely well i suppose Busquets is crap aswell as they both perform similar roles

Not sure about that. Even looking past the fact Cisse and him have the freedom to change position in that formation whenever they want, Ba has come into some decent goalscoring positions since his last goal. For various reasons (excellent saves v Spurs and Wolves, missed penalty v Sunderland, hitting the woodwork v Sunderland, being fouled in a goalscoring position v West Brom, bad first touches v Bolton) it's just not happened for him. I don't think the formation is the problem per se. I agree with that its a fluid enuf system to make it work, its up to Demba whether he wants to make it work plus he looked good as part of the front 3 against West Brom and Liverpool.

De Gea Jones Evans Ferdinand Evra Valencia Carrick Scholes Young Welbeck Rooney The same Lucas Leiva who played until November until his leg dropped off? How on earth was he part of your thinking...absence makes the heart grow fonder? Reading comprehension? if he continued his form until his injury he would have been a shoe in for most peoples teams of the season just look at how Liverpool have fallen apart since his injury.

I am not being funny but for us to go forward we need to throw 4-4-2 and hoofball to the scrap heap and if Ba wont stay because we wont play 4-4-2 then id seriously consider letting him go ( as stupid as it sounds) No one player is bigger than the team i dont care who it is we need to be using 4-3-3 and have the whole squad built around 4-3-3 heck id even want the youth teams to play 4-3-3. It would be stupid to lose any player over such childish acts but if Ba refuses to play in a 4-3-3 then i cant see any other outcome. 4-4-2 can only take us so far and i dont care who it is if one player makes us play that system to suit him and not the rest of the team then he should be moved along. I obviously hope this isnt the case with Ba and we can get him to adapt to 4-3-3 and take us to the next level.

BTW i cant believe anyone would pick Evra and believe they are picking him on his name instead of what he has done this season he has been declining for 2-3 years now and has been the weak link of their back four this season. I'd personally rate N.Taylor, Enrique, Baines, Santon, Cole, Clichy, Benoit-whatshisname all above Evra this season. Not to say they are better than Evra but this season to me they have been and i get the feeling Evra is being picked because of his name and people cant think of anyone else

Krul Richards Kompany Coloccini Baines Valencia Song Arteta Bale Van Persie Rooney Lucas and Sagna would have made it instead of Arteta and Richards had they not been injured, would have had Ba in there aswell but Rooney has been consistent most of the season and is ending the season well...... Yaya and Silva have been too inconsistent like alot of City players actually for me to put them in my team..... I have gone for consistency more than quality of a high level then dropping off, to me they have been the most consistent players in their positions through out the year.

Completely agree, my problem with him is that he is a complete liability in possession and as an attacking outlet. Also dont like he cant deal with almost anyone 1 v 1, but he isnt a bad player by any means not as good as the media say but not bad at all. I would'nt want him sold, just would prefer to see a fullback that can deal with players 1 v 1 and not a liability in possession and provides an attacking outlet whether that be Santon or a new fullback then i dont really mind. I get the feeling he would'nt stay here to be back up though.
