Yep, that would be a good season for us. Whether it'd be enough to convince these players who apparently believe they could play for a top four side to stay at the club is another question, but we'll cross that bridge when we come to it. The funny thing is that Pardew keeps going on about 4th as a genuine target and yet if any of the fans said the same they'd be shouted down as typically deluded and with unreasonable expectations etc. We signed one f***ing player for the first team in the summer, and he's featured in about half the games so far. That's not the actions of a team trying to improve on their league position and take one of the biggest steps forward possible. 4th. Aye that's my concern as well the only real saving grace there is that they are all on big contracts so in theory we could use the money to go on again. But you never know under Ashley how much of that will actually be used.

Top 3 are City, United and Chelsea in any order you like and 4th at the moment i'd say is between Arsenal and Spurs.... I have said many times i don't think they are much better than us at our best if at all the problem we have not seen our best since demolishing Stoke at the end of last season. I think top 4 would have been very do-able if we actually got the players we wanted in the summer in fact i would have been confident of it. The points total isn't so great to totally rule it out 4 points off Spurs who have hardly been impressive but i really can't see it. I'd bite your hand off for a deep run in Europe or/and FA Cup and 7th tbh.

Aye although Simpson is out of contract in the summer so we would have to get someone in as a replacement id imagine. ( hopefully an improvement) Sissoko does offer something different to the rest of our midfielders but unless someone leaves its not really a position that needs desperate reinforcement. Although seeing as it's a free transfer all logic seemingly goes out of the window when it's free.

Thing is clubs can sign a pre-contract agreement in January with the player as he's 6 months from the end of his contract. Either way he's not going to cost anything, unless some club was desperate and paid cold hard cash to get him 6 months early.

Their points total so far is quite amazing in relation to the way they have played. So is ours tbf.

I heard about him a year or so ago that is one of the most promising defenders in South America ( mind you i did hear that from a River fan ) I really can't say anything about him though as i have never watched him because i don't really watch South American club football.
