  1. Tbh i don't trust any of them in 4-4-2 none of them cover the ridiculous amount of space we leave anywhere near as good as Tiote does. Seems to be common logic would be to match up in midfield to make up for the lack of athleticism and numbers. Think Bigi/Perch/Jonas/Anita with Cabaye would all struggle against any 3 man midfield due to numbers and not be able to close the space as good as Tiote does. If we are going to go 4-4-2 against WBA and Liverpool i think we will struggle anyway no matter who we pick.
  2. Not sure Ferguson could play as a forward, he's a great winger and even a good attacking fullback in games we are expected to win but i'm not sure he has what's required as a wide forward. In a 4-3-3 i'd prefer Sammy and Obertan but in 4-4-2 then it's Fergie all day long.
  3. But if we are to play with two wingers then i'd like Ferguson to be one on the left.
  4. Yacob has been class for them this season that's good news for us.
  5. Perch-Jonas-Cabaye for me we have to play 3 in the middle otherwise we will get overrun.
  6. Yeah i felt he looked more comfortable on the left i can see what he's on about in the interview where he talks about Pardew seeing him as a LB.

    You better be right Lawro
  8. What is the rules like on this? can we play teams in our group i.e. Bordeaux and English teams? i.e. Spurs. ( last 32)
  9. Simpson always looks a competent defender man, that's not the problem we have with him its his link up play and attacking threat is the issue with him.
  10. Not saying that just using an example that Baines also took a while to improve his end product i would like/think Santon has a similar development.
  11. Lose ground on who? Everton are 5 points ahead of us already..... anyway what i think we will see ( also a bit of hope too) Krul Simpson Saylor Colo Santon Ben Arfa Perch Cabaye Ferguson Ba Cisse Would prefer to see 3 in the middle but can't see that tbh.
  12. When i said end product i meant from open play and overall decision making in and around the box, Baines has significantly improved in that regard in last few years. Santon seems to struggle in that regard at the moment but i'm sure it will come.
  13. No Sammy? Would be nice but its not going to happen and we really have to win this game, will be tough but we are too far behind the likes of Everton already.
  14. About sums it up, when he came in and tore the league up we was consistently creating chances every game at the moment we are struggling to create. 15 goals in 14 games in all comps is something we need to improve on. I'm not sure that excuse can bet trotted out again after Ferguson put it on a plate for him in the first half. Even then, last season he only needed a half chance to score a wonder goal. He's low on confidence, not sure why, but he is. Nah not tonight he should have scored tonight. I was talking about in general he has not had many chances to feed on compared to when he joined. It's obvious he's low on confidence as well. Fair enough I guess. I'm still not sure I agree we created much more last season. We had Ba being very clinical in the first half of the season, than Cisse in the second half. We didn't create boatloads as I can't recall them missing that many. Ba went through a similar patch and is back to full confidence and his goalscoring has returned; I'm sure Papiss will be the same. I wish they could both score at the same time though. Maybe i exaggerated but i do feel we created more in the stage when he arrived and the last game of the season.... despite the fact Cisse was clinical i remember missing a fair few chances as ridiculous as that sounds. Yh i'm not worried about Cisse he will be back like Ba but i do feel we need to be creating more chances as i said the goal return is not really good enough and i think that has something to do with chance creation or lack of it. Would be great if both of them could score at same time although the world would probably end List them. you don't remember people going on about Cisse missing 1 on 1s and is a more reaction finisher and struggled when he has to think? I would list them but i would have to go back and watch every game and i i'm not doing that but he did miss a fair few 1 on 1s in that time frame and a few others. He didn't score every time he touched the ball he missed chances.
  15. Aye his match fitness is probably similar to how Hatem was last year who did not look anywhere near as fit as he does now.
  16. The transformation to Obermars is underway.
