Still think there's no takeover and everyone is being fed by Ashley's crooks.
-
Saw this on twitter before and have dismissed it as nowt although if it's true and we never get private planes from there ever then there could be something in it. Not likely though.
-
Wonder who will be this time's Barry Moat before the smokescreen subsides?
-
Think of what we've had under Ashley, even Moncur who may be respected as a player and the Fairs Cup we won with him but he doesn't bring much, in my opinion, to the role he has. Keegan with his many good traits as well as knowledge could bring a lot more. It wont happen though but for me it's good to speculate rather than dwell on these past 10 years.
-
Id say the same applies to many of the fans. Keegan was the first coming of what Rafa has brought in the past year and a bit but on a much bigger scale.
-
Ive explained what I meant by saying more like a Charnley role although not in making the teas.
-
Cant see how wanting a club legend here in an honest role to improve the club is a reason for us to be mocked. I agree, maybe not in a role that conflicts with Rafa but for someone to have both played and managed us and completely 'get' what we all want, it's a no brainer. He could do Charnley's role in his sleep for one.
-
Dream scenario: Consortium in with Keegan in a director of football/chief transfer negotiator type role. Ambitious plans in place with stadium expansion, new shops to open around the area bringing the club closer to the fans as well as an honest plan to improve year on year. Realistic scenario: Ashley to take club off market at the end of January when the window closes due to the world financial issues or brexit crap.

Do we still believe that the club is for sale?

Under an ambitious owner or a regime that actively wants to be the best they can be then id say this would be an important step in the future by having a potential world class player at our disposal but we know what the drill is here. If Ashley still owns us next season then Merino's transfer out fee will cover the transfer window after. Quote me on that.

Nailed it with that bit for me.

Just call it St James' Flags. Then each stand can have a division of it which can be donated to. The Gallowgate can be St James' Flags - Gallowgate, Leazes can be St James' Flags - Leazes. etc etc etc. All separate groups but can be linked in other ways. Problem solved -
We are a bad example to value anyway as those, if there are anyone really looking, will find out when going through the books as a lot of income is diverted elsewhere thus not showing in the turnover.
-
Cant believe we're still talking about a takeover. Never was happening, never will under the greedy c.unt.
-
One thing that doesn't make sense in all this is why the club would want to defraud the tax man by paying high amounts to agents to pass on when they could have paid less on just using one to do a deal? The only way I can see some logic in that is if it was in someway passed back to people involved in the club. Just doesn't seem worth it though. Big risks for minimal gain.

This talk of a takeover only really got mentioned once Rafa exposed the fact that Ashley hasn't changed his spots by lying again. It's amazing how it never fails to not work. Can just imagine Ashley and his clan laughing about it.

No. It was announced ages ago that they weren't

Im sure I tweeted them ages ago to say the name was limited anyway as it should have been aimed at the whole ground rather than just one stand. St James' Flags would be a sufficient name for a kitty for the whole ground for me and maybe more would have contributed long term. -

Just seems like a few spat dummies and toys oot the pram to me. There was a bit of a ding dong the other day over True Faith's flag and some people windging over one thing or another and next minute it's the natural end of it. As long as it's been the catalyst for it to continue then job's a good un. -
I would hate to move out of the city centre. Me too. I'm reckon we could possibly do something with the East Stand to increase capacity, without affecting Leazes Terrace. Knock it down completely and build it much higher with a steeper angle...could even possibly make it two tier. It only holds something like 5000 ffs Leazes terrace has a "right to light" though. Make the east stand taller and it'd infringe Most students wont even venture out in the light anyway so there's a job for a decent lawyer to worm their way around the listed status.

A new stadium could easily be built on the current land and exactly how Spurs have done theirs with the problem caused by Leazes Terrace 'solved' by having a green area adjacent to it. This could be part of the bartering chip to give back some of the green land that we would take up. A new St James' Park would be within 400m at worst of the current plot and maybe as short as having the new Gallowgate end just past where the Leazes end is now or it could be spun 90 degrees or whatever to suit. Instead of a drug infested shit heap that lies North of the ground now that the students walk across or others allow to have their dogs sh.it on, we could have a real jewel in the English crown with road links exactly the same, maybe even the same entrance road for the officials cars. It's not rocket science to do if the likes of me, Joe Bloggs can think of things to suit all, even the cows would be safe. A grand entrance to the newly named St James' Park which would be a spruced up forest type area with a big ground in the middle could be where the lower Gallowgate is. Massive money and massive amounts of time would be taken to do this but it's perfectly feasible and ticks every box there is.

All seems quieter on the takeover rumour mill today, so does that mean this is blowing over now and can be filed with the other crap?
-
Ashley doesn't want to sell hence why the fabricated debt figure gets mentioned as if it's something he's owed.
-
People still bang on about any new owner needing to have loads of funds when the reality of it is, is that us being allowed to be run to a normal potential is a big increase straight away. Obviously extra funds will allow other things to grow but any owner with no extra agenda to better a side business will do. So Staveley, Middle Eastern investors or Joe Bloggs, it doesn't matter.
