No chance you lot are going down Brummie. All is good Yeah, I know. It's nuts that we are on such a good run, yet still not safe *s***s self a bit* I remember you posting a week or so ago that at 100/1 there was no way you were going down. In to 25/1 now, and if Wigan win tonight that will be down to single figures... Worth it in the long run though if it helps send the mackems back where they belong!

If your aim is to dominate games for 90 minutes you're living in cloud cuckoo land. f*** sake man I don't agree with all the points the lad is making, but have to say I agree that it's unrealistic to expect to dominate a game for 90 minutes - the opposition are always going to have a spell where they're on top, it's the resilience to ride out those spells that's important.

I notice he doesn't mention the Europa League. Obviously he would rather beat Arsenal than not but it's 100% his opinion that he doesn't want to be in Europe because having to raise his managerial game completely exposes him as the utter fraud he is. He did talk a bit about that in The Journal:

Quite a few sites offering 20/1: http://www.oddschecker.com/football/english/premier-league/relegation It's lovely looking at those prices and finally not seeing us there!

Bizarrely if he stays I think he'll start next season as the 3rd longest serving Premier League manager at the same club (can only think of Pulis and Wenger with longer?) Stability.

Looking back at our performance this season really does highlight what a poor league it's been - since we got the January signings in we've taken 20 points from 14 games, which would equate to 54 points over a season, comfortably 8th place and only 11 less than last year. Easy to forget just how terrible we were prior to that - without those signings we would've been gone for sure.

I've been convinced for a while that Cabaye could be off, but aside from him who else would we get the type of big offers for that Ashley would accept? Possibly Krul. Maybe HBA, but he seems really happy here, and also seems to like working with Pardew.

Hmm. Could be they're aiming to head off any last day protests by announcing he's staying nice and early. Disappointing for sure but given the previous "he's allowed a bad season" comments it's really not that surprising.

Just had a look at the stats from their game yesterday - Southampton had 60% possession, 25 attempts at goal and 10 corners, looks like the mackems were very lucky to scrape a point. Think they'll get dicked at Spurs, especially with Rose unavailable - if Wigan can win at Arsenal tomorrow things will be very interesting...

As usual Caulkin cuts right to the heart of the matter.

And a 50% improvement on the last home game.
  12. If Wigan had beaten Swansea last week as most people expected we would be set up for one of the most epic final days ever - there's 7 teams within 2 points of each other.

He then says he just wants the fans to enjoy themselves. f***ing think before you speak Alan, if you're at all capable of that. This is a lovely bit too: “It’s been an unbelievable season and I think it’s been so, so tight because of the financial rewards at stake this year. I will make sure that we are well prepared for next season and thank God we are not in the Europa League again.”

Doesn't care if we lose 4-0 next week apparently: http://www.goal.com/en-gb/news/2896/premier-league/2013/05/12/3974043/-? Good news for those who've shelled out for tickets!
  15. I can't understand how it's happened - not sure if it's selective memory but I have no recollection of us winning a game comfortably all season.

He doesn't shell anything out. Pedant! You know what I mean.

I can understand the pessimism but I think he's gone. Ashley was at the match today and he has eyes, he's not the type to keep shelling out money and not getting results.
  18. From praying Wigan lose to cheering them on in the space of 90 minutes! If the mackems were to go down now I would laugh my cock off.
  19. Second yellow was ridiculous - linesman clearly doesn't know the rules.
  20. So lucky that we were playing QPR today - any half decent, motivated team would've beaten us easily. Thank you to HBA for being the player to take some personal responsibility and make something happen. The manager surely has to go now.
  21. The QPR defence looks dodgy but that front 6 is not bad tbf. Would be best to exploit the obvious weakness by attacking them, not sure it'll pan out that way...
  22. Looking forward to the return of this beauty if it's true about him being in for Taylor today. :'(
  23. Ive read this as well, but not sure if true. Will Santon replace him. http://static.guim.co.uk/sys-images/SPORT/Pix/pictures/2010/11/24/1290616081830/Mike-Williamson-007.jpg Have to hope it's not true I guess - where's this coming from?
