Oh aye, would love either of them at Newcastle ahead of Downing, but I do think it's possible a move away from Liverpool could be what he needs to get his form back on track.

Don't think Downing is anywhere near as bad as some are making out.

My opinion of Downing is that he should be doing far better than he is. Looked pretty good at Villa, then Dalglish got hold of him and his form has eroded ever since. Despite the poor stats he is much better than Gutierrez imo.

5mil is the most i'd pay like. If he's available for that then I'm not surprised if were interested.

I think Downing could create chances if he put his mind to it. I think Jonas just generally cant.

Aye a solid pre season for him and knows now how tough the league is. Just needs to be a little less rash, his aggressiveness could be useful if used correctly.

Debuchy is a quality player man. Players take time adjusting to new league's and apart from a few iffy moments he was fine imo. Was our best player v Southampton and had plenty of other decent matches. Some of our fans are in the view that Simpson is better which for me it ludicrous. Have to remember he was dropped right in at the deep end with us, joined a shambles of a unit. Hope he stays as I reckon he'll have a big season for us. If City are after him it's coz they recognise him as a good full back who would probably excel in a decent side.

Would be surprised if they can match his wage demands.
