    Alan Pardew

Desperate comments from him to say the least. Beginning to remind me of Roeder when he felt the pressure.
  2. Lampard scored a beauty against us back in the Robson days - just pinged it in off his laces instinctively. Rooney has scored a few aswell.
  3. He ruffled a lot of feathers at Liverpool and had something to say about almost everyone - bearing that in mind I think quite a lot of this country don't particularly like him as a character and let them feelings distract them from his managerial achievements - which are good. They never actually give much thought to what he does on the pitch. I'v never minded him, he's a cheeky bastard who likes to goad the opposition
  4. He's an excellent manager imo - his CV barring Inter is impressive, they were probably the wrong club at the time. His outspoken nature puts people off, and admittedly he loves to tinker with line ups.
  5. Aye, shame coz I really think he'd get the side ticking.
  6. I imagine Rafa will have opportunities at larger clubs in Europe after doing a good job with Chelsea. That's true but I do think he'd be interested in joining us. Like mentioned before it's budget / salary issues that might put him off. Club stature I don't think he'd have an issue with. Think he came quite close to joining Villa remember.
  7. I think the 8 year contract will be meaningless if we start the next campaign like we are ending this one. It bears down to how ambitious you think our owners are to how sackable you think Pardew is. He won't go in the summer, even if we finish 17th and lose all our next run of games. The fact that Pardew is already wittering on about next season and it looks like we're gonna move for one of his transfer targets suggests he'll be here in August, and he's aware of it. It'll be entirely different then though if the same dross is served up on a weekly basis. No patience from the stands and their will be calls for him to be sacked, publicly. He's had an enormous benefit with the patience given to him this season. If we start really s*** next season the owner will have some decisions to make. When you lose the supporters that's usually it at Newcastle. I'v mentioned Rafa before and I'd love him at SJP, obviously highly unlikely like but one can hope.
  8. I agree they are massively inconsistent - my fear is they will cut us to ribbons if we play like we did on Sunday? They're a dangerous side with pace and the way we defend that has to be a worry. If Suarez is up for it it could be a long 90 minutes.
  9. I'm getting mortol for that fucker. If we lose to WBA on sat it will be unbearable.
  10. Liverpool who just drew 0-0 against Reading? Aye, but their Keeper was unreal. Liverpool create bucket loads of chances and we dont keep clean sheets.
  11. Would have the nasty b****** back tomorrow. We need some aggression ffs. Admittedly it would be concern over Pardews long ball fixation.
  12. Other games that provoked a similar reaction from me were Sporting away and AZ away - when we were dropped like bad habits out the uefa cup. Just that numb feeling when you can't believe what you've just witnessed.
  13. Yep, feel miles worse. Getting relegated was a strange one coz we knew it would get rid of some of our arsehole players. Sunday was just an absolute nightmare.
  14. It's been a dreadful few days and I just cannot shake the image of their 3rd one flying in. Truly sickening. Obviously avoided RTG and all the papers - all time low for me after a result. Even after 1-0 to Villa 2009.
  15. First victory, away to Newcastle, all class goals, when your team is desperate for a result. He'l make headlines anyway, regardless of his celebration. No will enjoy remembering him going mental at our ground, images you'd like to forget. Can't be one bit surprised he went on like that though.

    Hatem Ben Arfa

Our lack of movement is surreal. Down the channels, coming to help a teammate out, their is absolutely nothing, just static.
  17. I'll imagine he fancy being paid 10k a week. I know it's Ashley but their could be some middle ground found from both parties. More hope than anything this tbh. Personally can't see any middle ground due to his wages and budget demands as well as the confrontational approach he has. Do hope we manage to find a solution to Pardew in the near future though. Just want to enjoy watching the team play again. You are right of course, but he'd be my pick if I was given the choice. You're last point is key, it's becoming boring watching Newcastle United.
  18. Thing is with Tiote I think he's fully aware of how s*** he's playing and is also aware of the criticism from the stands - and he's really struggling to react in a positive manner, could be said he's actually getting worse. Pressure really seems to have got to him. He seriously needs to get through 90 minutes just doing all the basics - basically what he did when he first came. He's trying to be this skilful defensive midfielder and it's clear he's nowhere near that level. The squandering of possession this season is becoming ludicrous in it's frequency tbh.
  19. Seeing that picture there of Simpson - we had everything you need in a derby that game - fight, some belief and we got a deserved point. Yesterday I'v never seen Newcastle perform that badly in a derby in my lifetime. Even the 2-1 defeats we showed somat - that was diabolical.
  20. I'v stuck up for him in the past but yesterday was the game for me - we had so many incentives going into that game and they completely bottled it. The disallowed goal probably would have changed it but we've had loads of luck this and last season so I guess it's gonna even itself out and in a game of that magnitude. My biggest fear all week leading up to this game was our manner in approaching it. I know you can't start every game hell for leather but if we had come out yesterday and stamped our authority on them they would have crumbled like all the sunderland teams of the past. Our start gave them hope of getting something and once they took the lead we were in real shit - we needed to score first. The home team in derbies have to set the tone. The manager is looking more clueless with each passing fixture - the players look devoid of confidence aswell as looking completely paggered, and the continued season long lack of urgency in games is really worrying. The team also lacks character - maybe harsh but it's abundantly clear. We mock the likes of Barton and Carroll but I would have had either of them on the pitch yesterday.
