It's just depressing. There is literally nothing Ashley could do that will lead to the majority of fans trying to get their club back. Nothing. No matter how spiteful/awful/incompetent/antagonistic huge numbers of fans will not only continue to give him money, but will perform mental gymnastics and actually pretty much approve of his actions. "I wanna see what Bruce is about so will give him time..." Fucking punchbags.

Whether that's based on guesswork or any real info, it's kinda stating the fucking obvious. Although to a lot of people the takeover was definitely real and going to happen. Also, if this is true a fair few who said Bishop would have to be an evil mastermind to make up a fake takeover story, might need to think again.

Still love Rafa. Rafa should still be managing us. Steve Bruce is a loser. Look at his record. Look at his statements in support of Mike and his lies about being in control of transfers. Fuck Steve Bruce. He also doesn't do tactics. This is going to get exciting as the season goes on, for all the wrong reasons if you want Ashley's club to do well.
-
Totally agree. I've supported them for 32 years. Couldn't be more disenfranchised with the club, the majority of fans or the ownership than I am right now. This is where I'm at.

Why are Newcastle fans so soft? I remember throughout the summer people saying he has to sell now as the backlash would be so huge. He's got it that easy that he's going to be sat in St James' Park laughing at the fans again this season. Guaranteed.

Don't take this badly Kaka, but if you think that's the reason Carroll was brought back, I have some Florida swampland available you might want to take a look at. it's quite amusing watching him twist anything and everything into being a positive. Fucking mental, but amusing.
-
Agree fully. It's like some sort of joke, with a not insignificant proportion of fans lining up to almost approve of Ashley's trolling this summer. Wouldn't keep Rafa or Rondon, but gives us Steve Bruce and Andy Carroll as a cheap joke version. Like you say, we deserve to go down.
-
Yeah, but managed by Steve Bruce instead of Rafa. This is tragic on so many levels. This signing. This whole summer. This notion of "let's get behind everything and hope for the best" also.
-
Would seem so. Ashley really does own the perfect club.

You've articulated perfectly how a lot of us feel there I think.

Bruce was asked what progress would look like and he rambled on for a bit before saying "Now if Hull can stay up, and get to a cup final, then I'm convinced that Newcastle...you know with that draw being lucky for you, you've gotta have a bit of luck along the way" He's aiming to stay up as success, then can blame a tough draw when we get knocked out of the cups man. Joke of a man, and anyone defending those comments.

Nowhere near that yet for me, if he starts blaming players and coming out with every pathetic excuse under the sun then yeah, he'll be up there. Mind you, it'll be harder to to do when I've no interest in what happens when we play. He will though. He's well on the way already in terms of awful quotes, "Mike this, Mike that", "Ha, only 12 fans protesting", "Almiron not scored", he thinks progression is "to stay up and have a go at the cups". I've probably forgotten more. After a while, it'll be hard to distinguish between them. Although, I don't think I've ever hated any cunt as much as Pardew so who knows. Aye on Pardew for me, utterly hated him and still do, but them quotes, fucking hell fire Yeah well on the way me with now Glad I could be of some assistance.

Is Bruce pissed already. Edited as I didn't read what you'd written.

Sell Dubravka and start with Darlow and we're down without a doubt. To think some people actually rated him is hilarious. Dubravka's got the best 3/4 years of his career to come now, if I was him I wouldn't want to spend it here. Also, he'll be a peasant compared to Shelvey and other PL players I'd imagine, and we're dicking him around over an improved deal (that he has clearly earned). If I was him, I'd be looking to leave. But yeah, add Rafa to Rondon, Perez and possibly Dubs, and it'd be impressive how quickly Ashley's gutted the club.

I am an outsider so feel free to disregard this post. Couple of points. Why is he is NUFC through and through a criteria to fill the most the important position in a 100 million dollar operation? This point is not just at Newcastle but at other clubs also. It also seems to be a common line to justify PFM appointments at other places. I get it if the person has a unique connection, best placed to incorporate a style of football due to his past connection with the club like Guardiola or Keegan. Or the person can use his legendary status to make changes which other people cant, like Zidane. But otherwise, does it matter? Especially with someone as shit as a resume as Bruce. I am dreading the time, the calls for Gerrard to take over, start in the media. If he is definitely NUFC through and through and has the club at heart, why did he manage Sunderland? It is not like he needed the money? He had opportunities to manage NUFC in the past which he turned down. Steve Bruce might have a soft spot for NUFC, but let us be honest. He is here because at this stage in his career, no other club with even half the profile of NUFC in the premier league would touch him with a bargepole. That is the only reason. He probably cannot believe the fact that he is at a PL club. He also knows that even if he fails miserably, as long as he is being discussed in the media (which your club will ensure due to its profile), PFMs are like whac-a-mole, will pop up somewhere. never seen a bad post from this lad, always on the fucking money Yep, always worth reading his views. He gets it a lot more than some actual supporters of the club, that's the mad thing. I have experienced exactly the same thing ten years ago when Rafa was replaced by Hodgson. Media blitz about how Hodgson bough positivity to the club. Players are now able to "express" themselves. Release the shackles. None of this pesky tactics which is restraining the midfielders from showing their true talents. Training ground is now a happier place. Arms around the shoulder approach to management. All from the classic PFM and their desperate media shill playbook. You can expect similar quotes from Bruce also. 22 September: “They’ll be a formidable challenge” (Before facing Fourth Division Northampton Town) 24 September: "The protest does not help" 17 October: "As good as we have played all season" (After the woeful loss to Everton) 17 October: “To get a result here would have been Utopia” (Also after the defeat to Everton) 21 October: "We will cross that bridge when we come to it" (On rumours of Torres to Manchester United) https://www.lfchistory.net/Articles/Article/3279 I think his quotes after Everton loss and Torres to Utd rumors finally drove people over the edge. I see a lot of parallels here. And you are in a worse shape because while we were declining, we still had a number of great players to rely on and as bad as Hodgson was for us, compared to Steve Bruce, he is Arrigo Sacchi. We've had it for 10 years so theres literally no excuse for it from any Newcastle fan by this stage. Those quotes though. they're actually Pardew-esque (especially bigging up shite opposition, and claiming the team played great when nothing could be further from the truth). I've no doubt we'll hear all of those at some point from Bruce. I'm actually shocked how quickly he's sided with Ashley and against the fans though. I hate him already.

If this cunt keeps going the way he's started, he'll be approaching Pardew levels of hate from me within about, 2 weeks.
-
1 or 2 wins in the first 5 games (unlikely I know) and you watch people saying Bruce is better than Rafa.
-
doesn't really fit in with the comms from BZG themselves though does it Their 'comms' don't really fit in with being a multi billion dollar company though.

I'll humour you...what would you suggest instead?
