Maybe if we all turn up outside the stadium for the Sky cameras later the management will relent under the pressure and buy some players. I still think we'll sign Guehi today - they will surely be aware how important momentum and positive vibes are to a club (more important than an extra £5m or losing a dick-swinging contest with Steve Parrish). And without something to show for this whole summer those things are long gone.

There is a difference between someone playing so well that we are unable to keep hold of them, and them leaving because they don't see the club being able to match their ambitions. But you knew that right?

If we are having such a hard time finding players that can improve us, could it be due to conflicting opinions in the recruitment team, or between the recruitment team and manager? I think Howe had Mandy's ear. Big changes have happened this summer, and currently there are no really promising signs of things to come moving forwards.

Thinking back to the video of his first day at the club, with Trippier there to greet him - it all seemed so professional with us bringing in great characters, but both of them have let us and themselves down with their actions away from the pitch. Football, as life, is funny like that sometimes.

Everything feels rather flat so far this season. Hopefully the board can do their job and get some good players in and give everyone a lift and our season can begin from here.
