Love opening this and not seeing a rumored out update. Granted we have players we need to get rid of (who the f*** is xisco I started supporting right around shearer's retirement and have never seen this asshole play) but at this point I am all about squad depth. We finally have a cadre of good players with good attitude (I count colo in this category, whatever drama he has had around him his football has stayed at a top level) and the only thing we have to worry about is injuries. We don't need simpson long term but we sure do if debuchy gets injured, so I'd rather see him go in the summer if Haidara looks promising. The drunken transatlantic point here is that lots of players in and not many players out makes for a good window, now lets stop playing Shola jesus. Of course he'll score a hat trick at the derby, really we should run him on a six week fitness course culminating in each derby and not play him otherwise. Perfect plan.

This season has been bizarre... If we score early, I am gutted because I know we'll stop trying. Insane to play with 10 men around our own box and Shola by himself in the opposition half... We could have put this game to bed early with a third goal, but didn't even begin to try for that at all. Insanely lucky that we tried this horseshit against a terrible team like Villa, if we sat back and invited a decent team onto us like that we'd have been properly fucked and deserved every inch of it. Hopefully at chelsea we don't score until the very end and nick a draw... maybe a 1-0 if the stars align. If we score first we'll lose 3-1.

Completely agree with this, and as much as many of us on here think that this buying spree in january is a result of our p*ss poor league position and fear of relegation, I think we were also waiting to catch a lot of these guys with six months left on their contract. Wasn't Sissoko rated at 8-10 million not too long ago? We're getting him cheap because his club would rather have 2-3m than nothing at all. I think this might be half panic-buying half master-plan at the end of the day.
