  1. I can identify with the tenuous connections of team-support... I got into newcastle cuz they were my team of choice in Pro Evo 3... Shearer was my secret weapon against all the cunts who played man-u and madrid. When it comes to the NFL I base my support purely on which cities I hate more than others, I don't have a favorite team but I have four or five that I fucking despise. I'm still trying to sort out an Australian Rules Football team to support, but I will tell you that that shit is one hell of a game. The violence of American Armored Wankball combined with the fluidity of Effeminate European Feet-to-Balls. Pure 200 proof distilled entertainment there.
  2. Man this whole point system is a trip... So what do all you unfortunates do? Land in Brugges without tickets and just do some old Danish pirating?
  3. 433, ba on the left (he can handle it emotionally and he scored a cracker from there vs spurs) cisse in the middle (pardew's henchman with a radio-line and a cattle-prod on the touchline to get him to make some runs), Ben Arfa on the right and/or wherever the fuck he wants to go. Whoever feels like being a goddamn footballer and doesn't have a sore leg can play midfield. Job done. They should pay me Pardew's salary to wear spectacles and pound a ton of northern vag.
  4. De Gea has potential but man he is a complete pussy. Would be a great keeper in Spain or some other pretend-league where you're not allowed to touch the goalie, but he's not cut out for the Premiership. They've been saying he'll toughen up for years now, but I don't buy it. Sczsceyznyznezny is decent but seems prone to howlers, kind of robert green-esque. And as for Reina, he is just not very good.
  5. He's already better than De Gea, Szczesny and Reina. Although for me, it doesn't take much to be better than that lot. Especially De Gea and Reina.
  6. They are on the relegation train right now if you ask me. Not this season or the next, but the moves they have been making are pointing them straight down. Can see them changing managers once a year for the next few years and then dropping out for a season, kind of like we did. Of course they can still turn it around, but it looks to me like their ownership is 100% retarded. Their Red Socks are suffering the same sort of implosion as Liverpool right now as well. Obviously completely different sports, but there are some interesting parallels, lack of stability at manager, clinging to aging talisman players, completely f***ing up in the transfer market... http://www.nytimes.com/2012/04/15/sports/liverpool-and-red-sox-same-owner-parallel-debacles.html?pagewanted=all Decent article on the topic (though it spends a lot of time trying to explain what the hell soccer is). It's from April of this year and the situation for both teams, particularly the red socks, has gotten even worse since then. The red socks are 100% terrible this year (and I am loving it, feckin overhyped pricks) and engineered a collapse of biblical proportions to miss out on the playoffs last year.
  7. 6th... United City Chelsea Spurs Arsenal (barely, those cunts) Newcastle Liverpool in the bottom half.
  8. I'm in for sure. I expected worse from the transfer window, and we got a pretty cushy Europa draw too. European fuckin football! Midweek games that are on at a decent hour in the Pacific timezone! Now if somebody would just lock Cisse and Ba in a rec center overnight and force them to become best friends....
  9. I'd be curious to see a midfield diamond with our current squad... Something like Tiote Jonas Cabaye Ben Arfa Ba Cisse could be pretty slick, they are all good on the ball and we might be able to hold possession for more than five seconds. Could see HBA drifting left or right as his fancy takes him, Cabaye able to surge forward with Jonas doing the heavy lifting behind him.
  10. 2-1 win. We'll go ahead by two (HBA and cisse) but then give away a sloppy goal and struggle through a nervy last fifteen minutes.
  11. At the end of the day I'm happy we didn't lose players. Obviously dissapointed, but I'm a pessimist so I expected us to lose Tiote and maybe Ba or Cabaye and bring in some bullshit player like Michael Owen to compensate, so at the end of the day I am angrily satisfied? Overwhelmingly indifferent? Ready for some fucking football?
  12. Who the fuck would want to go to liverpool... Man if we could get Dempsey in... I would be a happy man. Pipe dreams though.
  13. These assholes know we have Demba Ba on the pitch right? Maybe try passing it to him once in a while. Fuck.
  14. Why you praying for that? I'd be happy not see Cisse feature at all if all is going smoothly. I really think we're underestimating them. Gosling and Obertan upfront people are mentioning?! I hope we see a couple of first teamers in at the very least. Exactly. You still have to win the game. I would not like to see us come back to Newcastle behind on aggregate, and suddenly there is massive pressure in front of the home fans... Let's get into the group stage at least before we start fucking around.
  15. Praying he starts Cisse. Also praying I'm able to watch the game.
  16. Agreed. At least Jonas puts them on frame.
  17. True enough I'm sure, I was only there for a few days. However, of the major european cities that I spent a few days in, Paris was at the bottom of the list for sure. Not worth much as an analysis I guess, but there you go.
  18. Paris is a shit-hole. Literally. Dog shit everywhere on the streets. When I was there in 2006 they had a ridiculous bum-city right on the street with a ton of homeless fucks laid out on couches, tents, sleeping bags, basically having set up a permanent shanty-town right there on the sidewalk. Definitely one of the low points on my trip. London was cool but so expensive... Highpoints for me were Stockholm and Barcelona. Also Galway in Ireland was a fucking blast, great party town.

    Alan Pardew

I'm with you mate... while I'd love to see a new signing or two (defenders, please) I think just keeping the squad we have is a huge achievement. With Demba and Cisse able to spend a full preseason learning how to play together, and Barfa not coming off that horrific injury, we are only going to be meaner than last year. If we don't get it done over the summer there's always a chance we can bring someone in at the transfer window to provide cover for our African Nations Cup casualties as well. I guess the bottom line for me is I'd rather see us keep the players we have, than lose some of them but bring in new faces. Of course if I could have both.... then I'd have to look harder for something to complain about. I'd be interested to see a 4-3-1-2 with HBA playing a free role behind Demba and Cisse as a front two... I think it'd be a nightmare to defend against those two working together in the area, and HBA could swing out to either side to provide us width as needed.
