And what is that? Outside the Stadium of Light last season after the 1-0 win he gestured the scoreline with his hands to angry Sunderland fans! Was class Wasn't it going in this season? They're getting off the bus. You're right

Liverpool vs Newcastle United - 04/11/12 @ 4pm (Live on Sky)

Unfortunately this is true..Johnson over Simpson, probably agger next to colo, gerrard and Allen would have a claim for midfield alongside cabaye and Suarez obviously. So in my opinion a mash up of the two sides would be quite balanced. -
Yohan Cabaye (now sporting coordinator at Paris Saint-Germain)

Best NUFC passer of the ball since..? -
Mackems claiming Danny Rose is better than Santon really rankles me! Madness. Also they claim their message board is superior to this one?!

excited by our midfield trio. Feel Anita could perform well tonight with Tiote alongside him. -

Appear to be in the minority but I still believe he is one of our most important players, and IMO after Ben arfa the most technically gifted player in the team -

Not sure this is worthy of a reply but.. Eh? -
how are you watching it?!

Exactly, and he won't have any clue that the majority of the fans don't condone that behaviour. The same fans also had a go at a club official for telling them to shut up, going on about how they spent so much so should be able to tell the players what they think. Shame. But apart from about five fans the rest were great, well behaved and supported the team really well. Pards came out after the game and tossed about five players' shirts to the fans (Y)

Was at the stadium, agree with general consensus about the game, not great but did the business. However, after the game outside a few NUFC fans abused Obertan quite violently, calling him shite etc. he looked devastated tbh. Of course he was poor, but is that really helpful? Cisse and cabaye were class, stayed with the fans to have photos despite Greek police trying to move them on

Could someone post a link to said Ajax forum? Fancy having a giggle

Personally dead excited by this, I said a few weeks ago midfield strengthening is as crucial as rb in my opinion, and Anita, tiote and cabaye is pure class.

Seems like the defence likely to start the spurs game

I pray the away game is the first leg! I'm here with the family in Athens until the 28th. If its affordable for you definitely worth coming, and those of you wanting to make a little trip of it, I recommend looking at places such as Glyfada and Voula to stay as they are about 30 mins drive/45 mins bus from the stadium but are on a nice bit of coast and not too touristy (or pricey) and not grotty like many parts of Athens

What's the pitch looking like? I'm worried it won't be in much of a state to start the season

Really? I'd say top 8, but i think people on here have distorted views after last season. Liverpool and Tottenham are still stronger, as horrible as it is to admit. We had a season when everyhing clicked, Liverpool had a season when everything went wrong. I think on paper we're more around 7/8- in the same bracket as Everton. Of course, here's hoping we have another superb season and exceed expectations again, but top 8 would be about right IMO Tottenham finished above us last year so how that has any relation to us finishing top 6 i don't know and we are better than Liverpool and Everton. Liverpool are definitely not stronger. They have been poor since Benitez left because they have an average side, until they make improvements we are better. Yes but clearly with their new manager and losing Modric, Spurs are more likely to be catchable than Chelsea, with their investment and apparent boost in morale under Di Matteo. By saying we should be finishing in the top 6 you imply we should be competitive with 5th place (where Tottenham may well finish in my opinion), hence why i mentioned tottenham. And then Liverpool have been competitive for years, and just because they've been poor the last two seasons, they've still won a trophy suggesting they are still strong. I'm just worried people on here will be complaining if we finish in the top 8, which in my opinion would be an achievemnt as it represents consolidation after a great season before. To expect top 6 as well as doing well in Europe and a domestic cup is dangerous i think. Of course we can hope and it is certainly possible, but top 6 should be a wish not an expectation in my view
