My understanding of an investment fund is any money you put in gets re-invested into other companies. So then surely the money PIF put into Clearlake would have been used to buy Chelsea and therefore PIF will benefit from any profits gained from the purchase of Chelsea. Is that not correct?

I think they need to sell 'a player' and atm it's between Maddison and Fofana - I think they'd prefer to sell Maddison over the two but it'll boil down to who is willing to pay what they feel the player is worth. Chelsea have cash to burn atm so can't see it being an issue paying their price for Fofana.

100% - I understand the club trying to get the best deal but sometimes you've got to just pay the price.

He's worth £50mil in todays market for a British player - I don't think anyone would say we've over paid if we got him for that. An extra 10 mil isn't going to break FFP rules.
