Nitpicking from your very long post with which I generally agree, but Bruno is still in his prime, playing at a very high level, and brings far more to the club than just his play. He’s worth more to us than any transfer fee he’d bring in.

Regardless of whether or not they may have come in handy given our current injury crisis, there is something to be said for the fact that we finally shifted the likes of Wilson, Lewis, Hayden, Longstaff, and Lascelles this season. We’ll need a similar approach this coming summer.

I do think he (and the team) deserves the summer to rest and reset. I hope he’s learned lessons from this season re: tactics and game management, so that we’ll not be stuck trying to ram a square peg in a round hole all next season like we are now. But he’s on a hiding to nothing if Wilson (and it should be Wilson calling these shots, not Eddie) doesn’t back him with a massive investment in the squad over the summer.

Yes, he’s not.

I don’t begrudge him wanting a move away. He's been a good to excellent player for us the past two seasons, never doubted his work rate or commitment. I don’t think he owes us anything in that sense. I do think he, of all people, owes us the courtesy of not pulling an Isak, though, given how the club and fans stood by him that first year. Gonna be really fucked off if he downs tools and acts like a whiny punk to force a move away.
