He’s been brave selection wise and is clearly working hard to find a solution, but sometimes it’s easier just to pick a team and give them a bit of freedom. He’s trying to micro manage every player, every situation, every eventuality and it’s not working. Something has to give. Again I’d like to see a midfield 5 of Murphy, Merino, Hayden, Shelvey, Atsu and with Gayle up front. Enough defensive shape and enough attacking options. Agree with this

Kyle Walker was a tragic defender for several years despite having buckets of pace. He’s turned into one of the better two-way fullbacks in the league. It takes time for players of that ilk to figure out how to use their pace smartly, I.e. when to bomb forward and when to hang. Yedlin’s still figuring it out, I think his natural instinct is to gun ahead and it leaves him caught forward too often. But we definitely went through a patch of games this season where he was outstanding defensively. He’s working with one of the great defensive minds in football and has the right attitude and ability...I’m not concerned that he’ll come good. It also wouldn’t hurt if the team around him weren’t also crap. Nobody looks good in this team. I also love him.

So we should be grateful that after having spent more money, we are being outperformed by Brighton and Huddersfield who we came up with? They don't have the "world class" Rafa pulling the strings either. They were better *teams* last season and they still are. We’re a slapdash bunch of players. Who built the team? The same guy who hasn’t been given any money to turn a slapdash Championship team into a slapdash Premier League team. He spent 50 million on the side last season... and was given around the same amount as what Hudds and Brighton were this season, hes done nothing to convince me hes not a failure for us at premier league level. Cool, I look forward to the alternative.
