Sure could use his hold-up play

Looks like we'll be seeing Ba then

Jonas looks like Yanni tonight
-
I blame Danny Simpson for our terrible performance

Only positive thing to take away from this first half, won't have to deal with Jelavic anymore. Between striking his leg and turning away Jagielka's shot, Goal Post is having a great game for us so far.

Just getting completely overrun through midfield. Defense isn't stepping up to challenge.

Thought he was a hockey player

Need points from Fellaini and Baines 7 points combined from Hazard, Dembele, and Dyer this week really fucked me.

NYC is great if you're visiting, really the pinnacle of the Western world. Would never live there though tbh.

Aye, that's the Stoke Way. Can be derided, but Pulis knows how to keep his teams alive. And occasionally pull out a draw against City. Pulis keeps his teams alive by spending lots of money. http://transferleague.co.uk/league-tables/transfer-league-table-last-five-seasons.html Shocking from Villa too. Middle of the table in spending. They've had terrible resale value though, haven't sold hardly anyone.

It's a tragedy that England hates baseball, because they'd love arguing pitcher wins and losses. Chien-Ming Wang was the majors' best pitcher in 2006!

Defoe scores again. Goalscoring still meaningless in football.

The business about numbers is laughable. They haven't been positionally-restricted, either formally or informally, in years.

The Hillsborough tragedy is not something I know nearly enough about. Tonight's reading for sure.

Just saw the goal. http://desmond.imageshack.us/Himg13/scaled.php?server=13&filename=disbelief.gif&res=landing Only Papiss.

Whew, pulled through with a 1-0 win. Let off a bit after the goal, Jamaica shouldn't have been able to put as much pressure on as they did. Except for the goal he probably should've saved, the Jamaican keeper was immense. Mariappa looked a smart player as well, should be getting more playing time for Reading. Back 4 were outstanding. Danny Williams was lock-down at DM, absolutely should start over Beckerman and Edu. Jones, Torres, and Zusi all put in solid if not great performances. You can tell Clint still isn't 100% match fit, but he fought hard for 90+ minutes and gave the Jamaican CBs fits. And that fucking gif The only real let down was the performance of the subs. Shea, Edu, and Altidore did jack shit after they came on and actually looked more like liabilities than anything. I'm so tired of the garbage put forth consistently by Altidore. The Eredivisie must be a putrid league if he can score as many goals as he does.

Probably something badass in a Texan accent

U.S. is absolutely destroying Jamaica. Unfortunately, they haven't scored yet. http://assets.sbnation.com/assets/1356589/trollface.gif

Absolutely. Williams is very strong defensively. Have no clue why Klinsmann has continually played him at RM.

Would prefer a result for Antigua.

I'm actually feeling most confident about the back-line I think Boca is just gonna park his ass around the box all night, I'll be shocked if he comes more than 20 yards out (except for set pieces). He'll let Cameron do the trotting out. Dolo and Johnson will have to 'cherundolo' up the wings because this side has absolutely no width from the front 6. --------------------------Gomez------------------------ ----------------Dempsey------------------------------- --------------------------Torres------------------------- ----------------Jones---------------Zusi---------------- -------------------------Williams----------------------- Johnson-----------------------------------Cherundolo ---------------Bocanegra-----Cameron--------------- -------------------------Howard-------------------------

I mean, in terms of regional strength, it's the weakest confederation vs. the 2nd weakest. Though New Zealand more than held their own at the last WC and the minnows of CONCACAF (Honduras, Jamaica, Costa Rica, Panama, and Canada) are improving by leaps and bounds. Does make some sense to do a CONCACAF-CONMEBOL playoff though.

Howard; Cherundolo, Cameron, Bocanegra, Johnson; Jones, Zusi, Williams, Torres; Dempsey, Gomez I have no clue how this line-up is supposed to shake-out. With the exception of maybe Zusi, there's no real wide player among the front 6: --------------------------Gomez------------------------ Dempsey-------------------------------------------Zusi --------------------------Torres------------------------- ---------------Jones---------------Williams------------ ---------------------------------------------------------- Johnson-----------------------------------Cherundolo -------------Bocanegra-----Cameron----------------- ------------------------Howard------------------------- Or could shape-up like a 4-1-3-2 with Williams the lone holding mid and Torres, Jones, and Zusi ahead of him.
