Mike O Farrell is completely correct regarding Asian players often being pressured by their family in taking an education route instead of a sport route at crucial age of their development. I have seen it many times before and I had a conversation with somebody yesterday who works at a county cricket club, who advised that this is also the case at their county. It's not an outdated "opinion" at all. It's something people involved in cricket from club juniors to county juniors see time and time again. It's so easy for those not involved to think this isn't happening. Regarding the

Up there with the Ashes in Australia for the best sporting event I've been to. Turned up to Ally Pally with a stinking hangover having spoilt myself the night before, within minutes it was gone. There was just a buzz around the place and obviously packed full of people having a laugh/getting pissed. Wright just had balls of steel. Those closing sets from 5-4 down were as good a prolonged spell of arrows you'll see under max pressure.

He's been the best player no doubt. For once he doesn't look like bottling it either so fully expecting him to get the job done. As much as Wade can be a bore he's still one of the best 60-120 finishers around - his ability to hit that double is unmatched when he's playing well. Still think his lack of 180 hitting will be his downfall in the Semi.

Heading down London tomorrow and going to the final on Monday. Over the moon Price lost. Could not have enjoyed my evening if he had won it. Thoroughly looking forward to a Smith v Wright final now as I expect them to win their semis. Hopefully it's a classic.
  5. Imagine going from Ashleys NUFC a few month back, to turning your nose up at signing Trippier. Some people just don't deserve what is about to happen to this club in the next decade.

I've been for the UK Open before, it's a cracking weekend. Head into Minehead Social Club and play the locals at skittles, they're a good bunch. Also, a lot of the darts players head to the social club once they're knocked out - Huybrechts brothers happy to play against our lot a few year back.

My mates dad was a regular in there and was twisting about the change but did say he had been back in there and they've definitely still got the TVs.

Absolute tragedy about the Monkey Bar. Should have remained as it was. However, I'm informed that the TVs remain up and they are still showing sport.
  9. Sean Longstaff playing cricket for Tynemouth today at Felling. We must be the only club in the PL allowing our players to play amateur sport in the summer.
  10. I backed Bristol De Mai (45/1) few weeks ago when the weights came out but unfortunately I think the ground has probably went against him as it dries out. Farclas at around 20/1 could go well given his light weight. The only other one I have an interest in is Mister Malarkey - Clondaw Castle boosted the Kempton form a little bit yesterday. Worth a little stab at around 40s on the Exchange.
  11. This is going pretty well. Flooring Porter was one of my biggest bets of the week. Wish I'd doubled it with Mrs Milner today but those two at nice winners. Got 25/1 for Mrs Milner a few weeks back. I followed you on this - £30 lucky E/W 15 Cash out is currently £147.05. Thoughts? Return if Zanahiyr wins is £261.87. Personally I wouldnt with Lucky 15s as you've a guaranteed return anyway. Mathematically, all cash outs should be a no go, but its obviously always tempting. Blackmore this week has been a different class. May be on some good things but continually in the righ

  13. I've looked into Cheltenham for the last couple of weeks and I've came up with a selection in each race. I'll leave the handicaps out as they're very much subject to change. Day 1 Surpreme - Appreciate It Arkle - Allmankind E.W Champion Hurdle - Goshen Mares Hurdle - Concertista National Hunt - Royal Pagaille Day 2 Ballymore - Bob Olinger Novice Chase - Monkfish Champion Chase - Chacun Pour Soi Cross Country - Some Neck E.W Bumper - Kilcruit Day 3 Marsh - Envoi Allen Ryanair - Saint Calvados E.W Stayers - Flooring Porter E.W Mares Hurdle - Pont Aval E.W Day 4 Triump
  14. 4/1 with PP and Betfair - same rules apply.
  15. Guessing he didn't feel he did. Looks the faintest of flick's. If you hit it , you know you've hit it. This. Every time you snick off you know about it, and every time you get a shocker you know.
  16. I said at the start of the innings we need to be aggressive and play shots as otherwise you're a sitting duck on this track. However, coming in and trying to slog sweep, against the spin, is a horrendous plan.
  17. I was just thinking, if these two can eek out another 15 before fall of next wicket...we might have a chance of creating a lead. It's absolutely ridiculous on day 2 of a test match!
  18. I watched most of that yesterday and it's ridiculous. If you only bat, and don't bowl at all, you seemed to have little chance of being picked up yesterday. Granted Aaron Finch is out of form, but Finch, Hales and Roy are three of the most explosive opening batters in T20. All three went unsold.
  19. I need to see a replay of how the stump was bent backwards if that's what this post was in relation to. Just completely weird when there was no one anyone near the stumps.
  20. This is a great first session anyway but if we could get Kohli before lunch it's all over. Big few overs for India against Anderson here.
  21. I nearly woke the street up when he done that! Very lucky to get away with it. Really impressed with Sibley. He's such a limited cricketer but has an obvious strength in patience and clipping through midwicket. After Sri Lanka I feared he would be a sitting duck early on in this series but he's going about this very well. Not a lot more to be said about Root. He just loves playing against India.
  22. The wifes videod changing rooms over the top! Oh it's not changing rooms Mike, it's ground force.
  23. Knickname is “Bona” Not sure why. Only knew he was from Leam as my Dad told me he used to play football with my uncle. No idea on anything else He's from Whitehills estate so not quite from the Leam.
