? They've got the harder of the two ties they could have had at this stage.

Pens in the Panathinaikos match

Awful mistake by DDG. Fiorentina still on course, but 2-4 on the night and 5-4 on agg. 3 mins to go in extra time.
-
What a tie this Juventus one is. Down to 10 min but now 3-0 up and 5-5 on agg.
-
Tie on here. Strong start for Atalanta, and they have just taken the lead vs Dortmund after only 5 mins. Now 1-2 on agg.
-
Aye, like the above poster, Juve for me. The other 2 are closer in terns of scoreline, but in terms of to qualify odds Juve are just circa 3/1 whereas Monaco are nearer 9/1. First goal really big on the Juve tie. I'll probably watch Atalanta vs Dortmund at 5.45pm as well, if I get home in time. Makes it generally more interesting that we are one of the last 16.

Horrific night in the NPL East. Newton Aycliffe 1 Silsden 6 Blyth Town 0 Lincoln United 3 The 2 opponets were both promoted last season and not too long ago seemed like candidates to give the many North East strugglers a repreive, but it's looking like Brighouse might be the only side to stop 4 North East sides from going down. Ashington had a tougher match at home to promotion chasing Emley, but they were 1-0 up fairly late on before going down 1-2.

Probably for the best. Everton winning would be the worst result from our perspective.
-
Out of the playoffs now. They were just 7 points behind Hebburn with a game in hand prior to this.
-
There would probably be times where both were in the 5th round draw, but lost the replay, but looking on Wiki it seems that the last time Newcastle and Sunderland both made the 5th round was 1975/76, which is crazy. Both losing in the QF that year. Whenever either got that far, the other were out in an earlier round.

This guy is good. Teesside based (I think), but goes to so many grounds in the North East non league and combines a match vlog with local geography. He was at Hebburn on Saturday for their match with FCUM.

Man City's last 2 FA Cup matches have been on at 3pm on Saturday, not even on TV here. The might not be as popular as the real big 3 in the UK, but their overseas fan base is surely growing. You don't usually have Man Utd vs Crystal Palace on Sky at 4.30pm if Chelsea vs Man City was right there. Could have bunged the Chelsea match or Liverpool matches on at this prime slot, albeit both ended up pretty one sided, but both were much more intriguing pre match than this one

Yeah, not a hindsight thing, just a baffling selection. For every 1 in 50+ times Wigan might cause a huge upset, about 40 of them would have panned out this very way. I can't see anyone other than Arsenal fans continuing to watch, unless hate watching, ha.
-
Can't believe they have selected Arsenal vs Wigan at 4.30pm tomorrow. That's like the prime slot, whenever you get an all 'big 6' match which doesn't have to be early for police or such reasons, they are pretty much all on Sky at that time, yet here we have the home side at home at home to a team who have taken only 2 points from their 8 league fixtures in 2026 and are 3rd bottom of the third tier. If Wigan were at home you could understand, but it will probably be tie over after about 10 mins or so. Birmingham vs Leeds at 12pm sounds more like a proper cup tie.
-
I was thinking a draw would be a decent result here, take that, and then hopefully comfortably beat them at home, but I see they are 7/1 to win at a few places.
-
Hebburn drew 1-1 with 3rd place today, while Hednesford followed up the sacking of their manager with a 5-0 defeat to Hyde, a result that didn't help Morpeth at the wrong end. Massive win for Ashington in the league below, but Blyth S lost in the 95th minute.

Strengthens the case for VAR.
-
Fucking offside as well.
-
The 6 game thing is kind of negated by all teams playing a 2 legged playoff, so those qualifying would still play 8 matches by the end of the group stage.
-
7th and a top 6 (not big 6) side winning the FA Cup would still mean Europa and that's probably the best we can hope for this season. I assume if Lpool won the CL and finished 6th, not impossible, then 8th would get into Europa if one of the top 7 won the FA Cup?

Just listening to the Geordie Jornos on their post press conference video and apparently Schar is the only Newcastle player to have scored at Villa Park since 2013. Crazy if true.

Magdeburg vs Arminia Bielefeld on Sunday as well.
