  1. Lucky to be ahead here. They've had some glorious chances.
  2. Looks like my Amazon feed is 23 seconds behind, so will have to be careful regarding posts with those overseas watching fully live.
  3. They are just 3/1 to win at William Hills, and we've lost to far worse teams than them in the past couple of years - Sheff Wed and Cambridge were both 3rd tier, the latter was at home and the strongest team we could put out. A top half Championship team winning at home to a PL team not in great form and a lot of injuries, whilst obviously shit from an emotional POV, it wouldn't even be that much of a shock. Sunderland are shorter odds than what Luton were today.
  4. Eddie has got a washed look. Didn't look himself in the press conference yesterday, nor during that half time break.
  5. Forest down to 10 men, might come in handy for us with the quick turnaround on Tuesday.
  6. Shit. Still time for the winner. Often happens. Spurs vs Sheff U, Man U vs Brentford.
  7. 9 mins added. Sheff U were winning 1-0 vs Spurs until like the 98th minute, then lost, so can't take anything for granted, and if Villa do score, they will probably go on to win it.
  8. Can't really be bothered to watch this PL match tonight. Would obviously prefer Villa not to win, but with their form, especially their home record, and the opposition, it does feel like an absolute foregone conclusion. I'll probably watch the darts and keep an eye on the score and if it is 0-0 quite far into it, I'll switch over, although suspect it will be over as a contest quite quickly. I wish this was the 5.30pm game tomorrow and Arsenal-Liverpool was tonight as I'll be going round to my brothers tomorrow to watch the boxing, and with it being PPV, he'll want to watch it from the start, which is like 4pm, so I'll miss that match completely.
  9. It's not even negativity, I'm as optimistic about my clubs future as I have been for years, as will be the case for most people on here, but it's OK to disagree about how important you view certain things, and you certainly like making your views clear in your short time on the board .
  10. Tottenham have only won 2 League Cups since the start of the Premier League era, they will have won nothing at all for over 16 years come February, so if you're a bit under 25 and support them you'll not have seen your team win a trophy in your time, or at least remember it, so if I was a 23 year old Spurs fan and had been into football for 14/15 years, I'd much rather my team had their fortunes in that time with world class players, big signings, Champions League finals, European football pretty much every year, winning far more matches than you lose, strong media presence, always on TV, portrayed as a 'big club', than someone like a Swansea or even Wigan with their one FA Cup in amongst season upon season of dross. Of course winning competitions are important, and I'm sure Middlesbrough, Portsmouth, Swansea, Wigan etc. had amazing nights when they had their one big moment, but you know for us it will still be like 'only 1 trophy in 50 odd years' or whatever, and 'Mickey Mouse', so I'd rather get our house in order, and fully establish ourselves as a top 6 club, ensure we have as much finances as possible to really build a platform, get our squad up to scratch, get rid of the deadwood easier, bring in loads of kids you don't need register in your squad etc. so that in a few years we're in a position to be realistically challenging for 4 trophies every season. They're not mutually exclusive of course, but winning the League Cup and finishing something like 9th or 10th wouldn't be a great season for the club, and assuming the top 5 do get CL, the European (competition) reward for even finishing 6th would be greater than the European reward for winning the EFL Cup.
  11. I was hoping Birmingham would win, but it has kind of petered out as a contrast once Leicester got that 2nd goal - they've been all over them since.
  12. A poll on here would actually be very interesting, I suspect it would be rather split. I'd personally rather rest players tomorrow than on Saturday.
  13. Cracking start to the Birmingham vs Leicester match, 1-1 after 14 mins. Brum started really well, but Leicester hit them with a devastating counter attack just after Blues hit the post - a bit like that Deeney-Knockaert scenario a few years ago, but they've just equalised.

He did quite well at QPR. Appointed in June, had then top of the league towards the end of October, was linked with the Wolves job, eventually turned it down, but that then coincided with them only getting 1 point from their next 5 games and he then went off to Rangers at the end of November (and QPR continued a massive downward spiral). His record was 9 5 8 at QPR.
  15. It was almost 50/50 when the draw was made with them a very slight favourite, but I guess it will mainly be the venue. Since the draw was made they did draw at home to Man City, beat Brighton, and then Sheff U (although obviously nothing special), whereas since then, away from home, we have lost 2-0 to Bournemouth (which could have been 5 or 6), lost 3-0 to Everton and 4-1 to Spurs, plus barely laying a glove on Dortmund. Our injury situation isn't getting much better, get a couple back, but lose 2 more straightaway. Then factor in fixture congestion in that this is our 9th match since Nov 11th with a small pool of players, I can see why we are that price. We're actually 7/2 at Unibet, so even longer, and I believe they are the longest odds we have been this season for a domestic match as we were only around 5/2 vs City at the start of the season.
  16. A couple of regional clashes in the NPL East over the weekend. Stockton beat Hebburn 3-1 in front of over 600 people to pull 3 points clear of the visitors at the top of the league. Ashington lost 2-4 at home to Newton Aycliffe in a midtable battle in front of almost 500. NA have now won 3 games in a row to pull clear of the relegation zone, and have now leapfrogged Ashington in the table. Dunston won 2-0 to stay in playoff contention, and just saw Consett won away on Friday night. Didn't realise Alex Bruce was in charge of Macclesfield in the league above. I'll probably be keeping an eye on their results going forward and hoping they lose. They've got a few recognisable players, primarily Oumar Niasse who was still on Everton's books just over 3 years ago.
  17. PSG look the outlier of the runners up, and Sociedad for those who topped the groups, so typical they'd be drawn together... Napoli vs Barcelona probably the stand out tie, Inter vs Atletico perhaps the closest on paper.
  18. Aye, nice to see Dortmund get one of the easier options after topping the group, but not so much PSG (as in nice).
  19. I'd be happy enough with a draw now. Man Utd kind of seem more likely to nick it on the break.
  20. I was just going to say, she always does seem a bit of a character when the likes of Lee (NFTV) interviews her.
  21. 6-2 at half time. I guess it is harder to maintain and be completely switched on when you have such a lead, but Fylde have done pretty well to be 'winning the last 20 mins' 1-2.
  22. Aye, two up automatically this year, one from each regional league, as KE says. Two drop from the 2nd tier. Forest won this northern third tier last year, but must have lost the regional playoff and not get promoted.
