The football was a lot better today. You can really tell the difference when a lot more of the technical players on the pitch. It’s obvious we need to move in that direction if we are going to compete consistently. Thought Ramsey in particular was a bright spark in CM.

I can kinda understand your point if it was a one off howler, but this has been an issue all season and we now have the most goals conceded from winning position by some distance. Surely it’s fair to question whether it’s a systematic issue rather than a series of completely unrelated howlers that have occurred continually over the course of the season which Howe could do nothing about. One point you are missing that ultimately Howe is paid a lot of money to take responsibility for the performance of the team. Ultimately the buck stops with him.

Other than Isak and Hall none of them are technical players… Hall is currently dropped from his preferred position for Big Dan Burn.

Were you one of those ‘he just needs time on the training pitch and the wins will flow again’? He certainly tried something new this weekend (after the board likely gave him a bollocking last week - see Woltemade in the starting line up) but his new ideas aren’t great. This doesn’t bode well for next season unfortunately.

Feels like he is completely bereft of good ideas now and it’s all run its course. He just doesn’t have a clue how to use the technical players and his runners have run out of steam. In desperation, he’s now resorting to playing several key players out of position mainly just for the crack (and not due to injuries). Which just never works as all know from the previous era. A great man and a great manager but he’s hit a ceiling with this project and probably best we all move onto pastures new for the sake of the club and Howe’s career.

Yeah Murphy is not a technical player at all and neither is Barnes. Murphy for example is more quantity over quality and creativity. He basically never looks up and just whips the ball into the same area each time. The odd time it works and looks good but the vast majority of the time we just turn over possession and then get breaked on.

I think Howe has the intelligence to change but I don’t know if he necessarily has the will. He’s been pretty clear throughout he only has one plan and the players just need to execute it better. If you look at it from his perspective even if he doesn’t change and gets sacked he still gets a big pay out and likely gets another PL job within a year. Rinse and repeat.

Gordon has been shite this season but he’s proven himself at PL, CL and international level. The crazy thing he still hasn’t reached his potential yet and has room to grow and improve further. The potential is very high if he gets his head right. Therefore, we shouldn’t drop below £70m.

We can keep him another year but anything less than CL and he has to go.
