No point trying to debate with Howe FC fans. He can do no wrong in their minds and there is always an excuse. I see the time on the training ground excuse has failed but just give them some time to spin a new hot take to absolve Howe.
-
Leave him alone guys. He just needs 6 weeks on the training pitch!
-
He did in the summer, yes. He obviously doesn’t now.
-
I really hope he doesn’t BUT it’s a real possibility Howe walks in the summer. 1. He had his chance to grab power last summer when all chips fell in his favour but he’s kinda blown it due to the poor summer window (which he was part responsible) and poor performance in the Premier League throughout this season. So now he has been somewhat humbled and has to march to a new superior, who looks like he wants to make his own mark. I am not sure how comfortable Howe will be with that situation considering he’s fell out with the two previous DoF. Howe is not particularly a yes man. 2. Howe is loyal to his core squad many of whom will either leave due to age or be sold in the summer. He will then be given 5/6 young regens and expected to make Wolte work in his tactics, otherwise the club has lost big on a huge investment. We know Howe takes atleast 6 months to get new players properly firing in his strict tactical regime. Yet he knows he will be expected to hit the ground running next season or he will be sacked by Christmas. 3. This England squad doesn’t look like a WC winning side. England will likely be dumped out the World Cup in the quarters and Howe will likely be targeted as Tuchel’s replacement. Both parties may see it as a good opportunity to part ways and end things on a relative high. He will leave a legend with an amazing legacy and get a new challenge. As they say you either die a hero or live long enough to see yourself become the villain. Will be an interesting summer on a number of levels. Likely the biggest since the new owners came in.

Yeah for once in decades I do. All the people employed are generally elite and seen as some of the top in their field. They are paid well to make the big decisions. We don’t have Charnley’s employed anymore. I will back whatever decision is made. I know we can be successful with or without Howe. So I will just back the team.
-
The club is much more than the CEO lol. You say you back the club whichever decision is made on a Newcastle forum and you get shit. Unbelievable really.
-
I am loyal to the club and not the manager. Managers come and go. If the club think at the end of the season they can get someone else better I will back the decision 100% and get behind the new manager. If they back Howe I will back that decision too. Exciting times either way as it sounds like the club really do have big ambitions, and are willing to invest to make it happen (as much as permitted by PSR). That is all a fan can ask for. Especially after decades under Ashley.

Seems to be one of the few Journos that doesn’t have an agenda and speaks the truth. The others like Edward’s and Hope seem very snakey.
-
Interesting Geordie Journos video just gone up on their Youtube channel. Liam Kennedy doubles down on his Tonali gentleman's agreement story and takes a swipe at other journos (Luke Edwards, without naming him) being used as 'pawns' by the club to try and discredit stories that he knows are true. Think it's pretty obvious Luke Edwards is just a club mouthpiece and nothing he writes is worth the paper it's written on, but interesting to see another journo basically say the same.
-
Tonali is a top player but I think we can get a player that does 80% of what he does at half the price. We need to reinvest the money in a top keeper, creative player or lethal striker
-
Who pays his wages?
-
Can see this turning into Rat Series 2 if he goes to Man U
-
Hmm took Bayern Leverkusen from relegation places (17th) to winning a treble and the first ever invincible season in Bundesliga history. Something Bayern couldn’t even achieve with all its relative wealth. Moved to Real Madrid and has the fourth highest win percentage in RM history. He basically got kicked out as the players don’t like getting told what to do. Do people on here really think Howe is an upgrade on Alonso?
-
Slot not leaving in the summer. Could be a great opportunity to upgrade to Alonso in the summer.
-
The Newcastle client journalists out in force spinning as usual.
-
At the end of the day Bruno is 29 later this year so likely has 3 seasons left at CL level. We won’t be there next year and no guarantee we make it the following year. Can’t blame him for looking to reach his potential but if he goes to Man U it will be grating. I don’t see them much as an improvement on Newcastle.

The amount of games isn’t really an excuse as Howe rarely rotates and he plays the most high energy style possible. Thats on Howe not the fixture list. Case in point Qarabag where we had a huge goal lead with another game in 3 days, yet he still rolls out the same core team in the second leg. Howe’s job is to ensure we get Europe EVERY season for squad building, reputation and financial reasons. Not every other season. To be frank whilst it’s great for the fans getting QF of the Carabao Cup it means little for the clubs future but missing on the CL means everything and can set us back years. Howe has been given two bites of cherry and proven he can’t manage CL seasons. I’ve see no willingness from Howe to experiment or adapt his style or squad management approach, so at this stage thinking otherwise is mainly just blind hope of third time lucky? I love the guy but I just don’t think he can take us to the next level.
-
Are Craig Hope and Luke Edward’s client journalists for the club? Seems they came out with the same message today
-
But can’t you see that it may be Howe not getting the most out of the strikers in squad? Gordon is not a striker and his conversion rate from open play leaves a lot to be desired. He stat pads with pens most of the time. It’s been obvious for a while now that Howe can’t change his style and only has one plan. High press and push for the opposition to turn over position in a dangerous area. But this is not sustainable for a team playing in several completions and with a small squad. He needs to adapt instead of doubling down but he won’t. Hence why he now even refuses to play Woltemade up top. Even the journalists have pushed him on this and his response is not what is plan B but we should’ve executing plan A better. His style won’t work if we want to compete long term in the CL
-
Well not all of us are in the Craig Hope bubble. We went out and bought Germany’s starting striker who was being lined up as Kane’s heir at Bayern AND one of the top goal scorers in the Prem last year who scored nearly as much as Isak. To claim he has no good strikers is factually incorrect. We have more fire power than most in the league. He just doesn’t have a clue how to use them. If Howe was a top class manager he would adapt his system to get the best out of them. But he can’t. That’s Howe’s fault not the board. Don’t get me wrong the window was a shambles and we did overpay but we ended up there or there abouts in the end.
-
We have one of the most talented strikers in Europe and a striker that scored 19 goals in the Prem last season. It’s just Howe can’t get the best out of them and prefers playing Gordon there
-
Christ, the Eddie Howe FC fans are out in force tonight
-
We haven’t got much to play for other than Conference League and it’s a World Cup in the Summer. Can’t see the players going above and beyond over the next few games, especially as Howe can’t even get the players fired up for a derby.
-
The final 5 games is when we will really show the league what we are about!
-
In the league this year it’s hard to argue against it
