To be honest you'd have to accept 25m for Krul thats an extraordinary amount for a keeper, get Butland in for 4m and you have 21m to buy two top 6 players or maybe 3 if your smart.

Could you not argue that we have alot more sellable assets this time though....Easily get 10m for Cabaye and Ben Arfa each and 8-10m for Cisse ....Probably 6-7 for Krul and Tiote each (aleast) if we were to go down... 5 for colo. Don't get this QPR-Portmouth comparison...Yeah okay they are similar in terms of spending big when near relegation but thats where the comparison stops... QPR are a hell of alot richer than Portsmouth, aren't the Mittal family a 30% stake holder, bearing in mind Tony Fernandez has a decent amount of wedge aswell, even if they go down they will be fine. The only worry QPR would have is if they went down and the owners got sick of it and left the club in the shitter, but I'm sure they are making to much commercially to do that.

I've read multiple times that if a player comes along thats excellent value, Ashley will jump in and buy them regardless of whether the player fits the area in the squad that needs strengthened, think thats the case here. Its probably more of an investment buy, who will provide competition for places and in the future provide a big profit (thats if he comes of course, by the sounds of its far from done). Plus to be honest they need to buy atleast 2 players now , after the whole Remy incident just to give the club in general a boost and save some face!
