Just seen Niall Quinn and Alan Smith on SSN talking about Ashleys comments. Both of them taken in by him, claiming 'this could be a turning point' and 'the first sign of his intentions for the club'... aye, only the 8 years after buying it??!! If the rumours are true that Carver will be confirmed tomorrow, then the only intention for next season can be relegation.
-
Won't be him though... will be Charnley and 'the Football Board'. "Not my mess, Guvnor!"
-
^ This Its no different, but possibly a bit worse than this... http://www.espnfc.co.uk/newcastle-united/story/2222628/john-carver-is-convinced-he-will-have-sir-bobby-robson-standing-alongside-him-on-one-side-and-gary-speed-on-the-other

If he's owt like Fat Sam, it'll be a big expensive rock in Spain, paid for with his pay-off from us!
-
Aye, just seen it... feel a bit sick hearing him use their names like that.
-
We MUST stop giving the mackems points though.
-
Seriously??? So he's gone from using Sir Bobby and Gary Speed, to John and Liam???
-
Mackems 1-0 up...Fletcher
-
Also worrying when he stated that "Lee Charnley and the 'football board' are responsible for choosing/appointing the next manager". Had hoped charnley would be clearing his office after today.
-
Just remembered (seeing it on the stream) that 'Spotty' Neil McDonald is Fat Sams assistant.
-
Unreal. Saw the mackem game was on Sky1 so switched over and there was fat Mike doing an interview!!! After 8 years of silence to all media, he must be Sh***ing himself about today and the protests planned. Souness afterwards though...... saying the club needs to stick witj a manager for 5 years... forgetting he was peddled as his record was pathetic. Pardew got 4 years, FFS!!
-
Gotta hope both us and Hull lose then, or hull only draw.... then with just 1 point from last 11 matches, his 'credibility' or whatever is left of it, will be totally shot.
-
Heart says no.... but head says it could be the only deciding factor left in Ashley deciding he's had enough. 2009 it hurt going down but this time, its almost the like its inevitable after the last few seasons.

Snip! http://www.sportingtouch.com/846-3924-thickbox/adidas-striped-15-jersey-short-sleeve.jpg BTW, its the Adidas 'Striped 15' template.
-
Looks like it could be this adidas shirt... http://www.pslteamsports.com/assets/images/adidas/longsleeve/adi_striped15_whiteblack_ls.jpg Still better than anything Puma have served up for us.

Plenty of time for him to contract leprosy. Until his bellend falls off in the shower on Friday and breaks his toe. Reading that at work, almost laughed out loud.
-
He wont though. He's already made noises about being at the club next season. Whether thats as HC, assistant HC, or bog cleaner, he has no intention of leaving by himself.... not for another 5 years, anyways. Even if the axe falls, security will need to escort him off the premises.
-
FFS.... "The lads were tired.... they watched a couple of extra matches this week." Unreal!
-
What about older crests? Toffs use the 70's and 80's club crests - not sure if they've paid for the priveledge, or if the older crests are just open for usage once they are no longer 'current'. I would guess with the current crest, you could be seen as trying passing something off as the current shirt, hence not allowed, but the older are always going to be 'retro' or different.

As the patch seems to be a UEFA requirement, not a domestic league requirement, I suppose we could just use 'patched' shirts for the players if or as/when needed, and make the general/replica shirts fully striped (or hooped), as Celtic do... Celtic in SPL... http://cdn.images.express.co.uk/img/dynamic/67/590x/celtic-bhoys-431430.jpg Celtic in European Competition... http://i.dailymail.co.uk/i/pix/2015/03/20/26202C9F00000578-0-image-a-24_1426810351203.jpg But that would be too straightforward for NUFC.... they cant even get the sponsors new logo onto a shirt launch, FFS!!!
-
Of course he looks less than pleased... he was busy writing another letter when they asked him to hoy the new kit on.
-
Nope, it's not a thing. Southampton don't, sunderland don't. West Brom have never had it whilst they've had their thick normal stripes. We're the only ones who seem to insist on it for some reason. What about the premier league numbers/letters? Are they only allowed to be black now? When West Brom had their stripes, they used red letters/numbers. Obviously black would be impossible on any newcastle kit, red would probably look ridiculous too We used to have red numbers before the PL, it was fine. Aye... http://www.nufc.com/images/kelly-nufc.jpg Note there is a white panel behind those, though only big enough for the numbers.

These images show that the variations in colours dont make it difficult or any more difficult to read. I don't even think its a puma/manufacturer thing, as we had the same sort of blank back panel in the last few years with Adidas too.
