Think we'll just about manage till Man City let Trafford go next summer.
-
After spending all their 'romano money' on Isak/Liverpool updates, they didn't have any left to get info on any other transfers.
-
Potentially dangerous summer this for football. Two players who pushed to leave, didn't play for their clubs, helped play things out in the media/social media, and still end up getting their preferred moves. Hopefully contracts going forward will be adjusted to try and prevent/stamp out such actions in future.
-
But that £124m is spread / amortised over the length of their contracts isn't it? £130m is an immediate bump
-
Flipside to this being done (well, agreed and the ball in motion) in the early hours, is that at least we have the full day to pursue other deals knowing exactly where we stand, as tight as that may be given our history on deadline day itself. We may well end up overspending slightly for another forward, but it is what it is. We must do what we can to bring another one in today.
-
Well, this isn't the news I wanted/expected to wake up to. Thought it'd at least play out this morning. £125m FFS. Let's at least hope we have another forward deal on the way. But, the precedent is set. Big club wants your player? Just tap them up, turn their head, and pkayer just downs tools. Job done. Urgh. Might gan back to sleep. Maybe this is a dream/nightmare.

Nah, sorry but I dont believe for one second, regardless of how he's acted and EH / the squad feeling, that we'd bring in and rely on Woltermade as our new striker, who isn't really an out and out striker, as well as new to the league, with Osula as the only other proper 'striker'. No 'replacement' or 2nd forward in, and he MUST stay. Its negligant to still sell him and leave ourselves short up top till January, which is already a trickier market, never mind when clubs know you have up to £130m burning a hole in your pocket and potentially even more need up top.

Thinking back to Andy Carroll, think bid was accepted around 5.30pm (remember I was at work), and then flown down on Ashley chopper (fnaar), and only completed just before the 11pm deadline. So if that took around 5 hrs or so, then surely a bid needs to be made and accepted by lunchtime tomorrow to have a chance of hitting the 7pm deadline? Though Liverpool would probably be given some special dispensation to get such and important deal done.

Pen for Palace... subject to VAR check
-
Didn't know he liked Scottish football?
-
Probably won't change much/anything, but I can see him submit a transfer request, as a final attempt. But as I say, doesn't mean Brentford will or have to lower the price, or even accept it.

Got Peter Reids strides on.

VAR in the Fulham case at least, shouldn't have been recommending a review. There was nothing 'clear and obvious' about that incident, which is only when VAR is supposed to intervene. Once called to the monitor, they are almost telling the ref, hes got it wrong. I'll admit though, more refs should have more courage to go against the VAR review and stick with their decision, or none decision, in this case.

Didn't did he? Thought all he said 'it didn't look like it would'. I reckon he's on the bench, otherwise, I think the announcements may have said it hadn't been done in time.
