I did google this earlier in the week, and found an article, but seemed to mention Covid so think it may have been from that time. It suggested that if clubs prevented players joining up with National teams, they could face FIFA sanctions. However the more likely route would be the standard thing, where the player could not play for his club team within a certain timeframe of the National team fixture(s). i.e. so you cant just say a player is injured or don't want him to go, then play him in your next fixture. Again, this may have changed since covid and things getting back to 'normal'.

I think the 'They can't stop him' refers to him joining up with Sweden, not leaving us for Liverpool. That's how I took it anyway, when he comments on needing previous six weeks, etc. i.e. being ready for Sweden.

Be interesting to see what happens with Wissa, if Wolves accept an offer for JSL. Will he agitate more to move before the window shuts, and/or will be go back for him? Guess a lot depends on the Isak situation, though I'd argue neither JSL or Wissa are an Isak 'replacement' either. Still hope we dig in on Isak though and hold our nerve, unless its a galactic offer (£150m+), which it won't be.

Yep, we need to disregard him for now. Not for sale, just try as best we can to bring two more forwards in, whatever the cost, and kick the can to next summer if we are in PSR bother, and sell him then if needed. Maintain we cannot let him/them get what they want, and show this is how to force a move.
