It's spelt like weiner (weener/veener), so maybe it's pronounced more like 'weeper/veeper'.

Was it Ryder who kept trying to ask a second question, and despite being told to shut up, kept going?

That was quick. Reports of the move only broke this morning! What happened to days of monitoring, preparing, considering, not to mention the medical, etc.

Hmm, not sure. They took long enough to actually make their bid for him (Ekitike) once their interest was known. I think there was a hope we'd concede to selling them Isak, so we could sign Ekitike instead. Problem was, Ekitike then declared he 'only wanted Liverpool' and we walked away, and they realised they might not get Isak so sign Ekitike instead. Then Isaks head is turned anyway, and they realise they can engineer a move where he agitates, but they won't/can't now pay the full asking price, hence the low ball offer made. A lot of guesswork and supposition, but its the way it looks to me.

My take on the discussions at the end of the season with Howe, are that Eddie has maybe said we don't want to sell you, but if an acceptable bid (perhaps minimum £150m mentioned) comes in, then the club would consider it, but no guarantees. So, Isak takes part in new shirt promos, goes to Austria, everything seems fine. Then, we go after Ekitike... Liverpool start making moves (contact with his agent/people), low ball offer is rejected, Isak goes on strike, yada yada, the rest is history. So despite discussions before the season end and Isak perhaps stating a desire to move on, no promises would have been made, and he was relatively happy until Liverpool step in and the 'tapping up' shenanigans start. Liverpool basically fucked everything up signing Ekitike out of spite, and then not wanting to pay the asking price for Isak and thinking they can get him cheap once his head is turned.

But, what they'd never admit to, is a big part of their Isak pursuit, whether they get him or not, was simply to try and derail and disrupt us. Thats why the offer we want, well within their affordability, hasn't come. They'll have him, if they can get him cheap, but job done already - they've turned his head, and fucked up our summer, and potentially start to the season. They clearly saw us as an emerging and ongoing threat, and needed to act. And, up to now, its worked. Cunts.
