  1. Any offside is clear and obvious. It's not a matter of opinion
  2. Felipe Anderson just oozes quality every time he's on it
  3. Don't get the hype about this Diop guy. Very rash, Balbuena is better IMO
  4. Haller's link up play looks quality
  5. What is wrong with Llorente? Llorente isn't going to come here to be 2nd or 3rd choice and is presumably on massive wages
  6. Over the last two Premier League seasons, Joselu has a goal every 383 minutes and Carroll has one every 401 minutes. Aye I'm not sure this "class player when fit" thing is really true anymore
  7. Looking forward to this. Should be a decent game and I don't really care if we win anymore
  8. Will be surprised if any of their relegation rivals do much better at Anfield
  9. Have heard of 1 non ex-NUFC player in this Norwich team Happy for Timmy though
  10. They haven't bought anybody who will improve them hugely for midfield or attack though, and sold their only proven goalscorer It's not like they were like Liverpool were before van Dijk and Allison were signed, they had issues all over the pitch
  11. Not a chance that is true. I'd say there's a decent chance it's true. He was presumably on at least £100k a week at West Ham, the appearance would have to be large for him to contemplate a mainly pay as you play deal with a low basic and wages are generally higher for free transfers anyway
  12. Might have a ticket for the second semi at Wembley if we can convince two more of our mates to go. Hopefully pick up at least one of the Dublin group games closer to the time as well
  13. That "coming home Newcastle" song Andy Carroll put in his tweet is brilliant
  14. He not 3rd choice? Basically 2nd because you can't rely on Carroll? Not sure it'll be split up like that. I think he'll be behind Muto at least. Forgot Muto ever existed. Presume Gayle must be getting some encouragement from Bruce if he has chosen to stay
  15. He not 3rd choice? Basically 2nd because you can't rely on Carroll?
  16. This window in isolation is quite good tbf. Joelinton is a gamble but so is every signing. Gayle/Carroll is better backup than Joselu. Saint-Maximin and Almiron is pretty exciting. Kept all the rest of our best players and got players in at wing back where we were quite weak, even if they are also gambles/unproven
  17. A honeymoon period or new manager bounce can absolutely last more than 3 or 4 games. There's literally loads of examples of managers having a good half season or season and then going shite when they get figured out. See Pardew at us and Palace, Martin O'Neill and basically every other new manager at Sunderland for years, Martinez at Everton, Shakespeare at Leicester, Roeder at us, etc.
  18. 40 million is a very reasonable price for a talented and relatively young player with an English passport. It is a good purchase for Everton. I love Iwobi as a person and I really hope he develops further and reaches his full potential, but I can't lie, I am worried. Not sure he'll ever have any outstanding attributes. I like the signing of Saint-Maximin a lot better, and for half the fee at that. Albeit Iwobi is an excellent character with absolutely no concerns on that side of things. But still ... Let us be honest, if Allan was born in Croydon or Woodford rather than the banlieues of Paris he would cost 30 million too, despite his shortcomings. Iwobi will do well, imo, and can be a big player for a club at that level, even if he doesn't develop too much more. He is clearly very skillful, a good passer, and is surprisingly strong/quick. He lacks something around the goal in terms of decision making (his return has never been enough in that area), but this is why the player is going to Everton. I find the popular idea that Iwobi is rubbish to be crazy. Agreed. I've always liked Iwobi. He'll do well for a team that doesn't try to play quite as intricately as Arsenal do. He needs the freedom to make mistakes but has great talent Great window for Arsenal mind
  19. Well we bloody well should be, after a CL final and getting literally nobody last year. I'll believe the deals when I see them. Sessegnon and Lo Celso are looking possible, which would be 80M or so (I guess?). Can't see another deal happening unless we're really confident that Eriksen will go somewhere. Supposedly Bruno Fernandes is on standby too, if you believe at least some of what you read. Dybala is supposed to have some shady image rights stuff going on. My dream right now would be Sessegnon, Lo Celso and Dybala in, and Eriksen out. Not confident about that at all though. Lo Celso is the big one and even if it was just him I would probably be happy enough. Hope Spurs get them all just so you stop talking about other team's spending so often
  20. Is the Lo Celso deal not gone through yet? Talk that Dybala is back on too. Those two would put Spurs on top
  21. Hes a headless chicken watch the game where Germany won 7-1 and just watch him it was quite possibly the worst performance by a defender ever 5 years ago He's class 95% of the time which is a monumental improvement for Arsenal
