Payet was a lot better than Sissoko at the Euros, honestly I don't even know why anyone is trying to suggest otherwise (or that it's even close) They would have got out of the group stages anyway. Nobody is trying to suggest Sissoko was better over the course of the tournament, Sissoko was better against the better teams though.

Nah he's been shit for Spurs so far, was shit in many games during his time here and isn't a very good footballer. This conversation is about Payet not Sissoko. Payet did nothing in the knockout rounds and people have him down as one of the best players in the tournament because of his performances against much worse teams. Same with van Persie in the last World Cup when people said he played well despite him scoring a few nice goals in the group stages and doing nothing in the knockouts while Robben carried that team throughout the tournament

He got a goal and an assist in the Romania match, would have been an embarrassing loss without him, and another goal and assist against Albania which would have been a horrible 0-0 draw without his contributions to the match. All while Mr Sissoko done f*** all. After being called out on your ignorance you had a change of heart and changed your tone to 'ooh he done nothing when it mattered in the knockouts I meant'. Really? Because for starters he scored the third goal against Iceland. You can talk s*** about how it was an easy match and Iceland were awful and blah blah but you cannot tell me a third goal in any given match does not matter not least in a Quarter-Final of a major competition. We all know the cliche about two goal leads being dangerous, and there is some truth in it just look at when Norwich were beating us 1-3 the other month, but the third goal more often than not proves to be the ultimate game killer. Tbf until the Euros I always maintained that he wasn't a good footballer, my arguments were always based on his effort. Then in the summer he played well for France and I changed my opinion somewhat which i probably shouldn't have just based on an international tournament. Up until that point i had always said he wouldn't start for any top teams. The people who thought he was class if only he tried are much more wrong here than I ever was
