Class goal Coutinho

Think I'll stay up for Brazil vs. Argentina. Should be good

Tim Sherwood has just been appointed their director of football. Sounds like that rumour has some legs otherwise that is a really bizarre appointment/move. Why would Red Bull want Tim Sherwood as DOF though?
-
High praise for Shelvey there
-
Of course he would. Like I said earlier, players with half of his ability have done exactly that, which is why this whole thing about our league being tougher is lost on me. :don't know: Tougher than La Liga yeah. As far as wether Messi/Ronaldo would get 30+ goals a season, its impossible to say. My own opinion is they'd certainly reach that number but not consistently. You mention earlier players that have done it in this league (Suarez, Aguero, Hazard). Those three have certainly been successful. But only one of those hit 30+ in the league and he only did it once (31 for Suarez in his final season). Ronaldo hit 31 goals in the Premier League once, didn't come close any other season. Yet he's only failed to get 31+ once in his time in La Liga, often scoring 40+ in the league. Ronaldo was more of an out and out winger in England than he is in Spain, certainly the last few years in Spain anyway. I think if Messi or Ronaldo were playing for Barca and Real in England they'd score as many but not if they were playing for Man City or Liverpool because those teams aren't near as good/consistent

Messi is roughly one billion times the player Aguero is He can kick through steel HTT. He is immune to triple coverage. He doesn't even need to play with a team. wat

Aye well Messi and Ronaldo wouldn't score 73 goals for Granada either like
-
Didn't Suarez miss like 8 games that season as well? Makes it even more incredible
-
He's EPL class, certainly, and a good player but imho Bridge is a better defender.
-
Immediately destroys any argument he could have had by saying he's vehemently anti Mackem
-
That game doesnt matter, they didnt need to win so it doesn't matter how good he was in it. Unless he scores the winner in this years FA Cup final, he's had a shit year. Aye that's exactly what I said
-
If Atsu scores, I'll donate £2 to charity Well? £2 tight cunt
-
I agree but isn't the point of his comment to motivate them to show him they can do better?
-
Think you're reading too much into it. I'd imagine it was meant like this, " you're lucky enough to have got the chance to be a professional footballer, most people have to work hard jobs with long hours to earn their money" which is fine IMO
-
You reckon? absolutely I'm not sure like, I think Timmy who sprays car doors for £300 a week might think he's been dealt a better hand than £50k a week Jermain. So why is it such a bad comment from Moyes then?
-
Don't really see what's wrong with what he said. That opinion is probably pretty much exactly in line with the opinion of the factory workers
-
Aye player of the season in the league and did very well against Zenit the other night too with a goal and should have got an assist

He will like. He won't win major honours or be a prominent player at the highest level, not even for his country. If people consider his performances at the Euros as him having a blinder by the way... well they themselves are f***ing blind. He was bang average. He's already been a prominent player at the highest level for his country You're not talking about the Euros are you? If you are.... well if that's what it takes to become a prominent player at the highest level all Dummett has to do is just turn up for Wales and he'll be up there with Bale... He was France's best player in the final Wow, hand him world player of the year award now! Aye, because being a prominent player in your national team at a high level = World Player of the Year. That's clearly exactly what I meant

Unless you score or assist are you doing f*** all offensively? Did Xavi do f*** all offensively? You'd have to ask why he was starting and why he got such rave reviews if he did f*** all defensively and offensively No I never implied that. If I did would I bring up Payet's chance creation stats in my defense of him being better? None of the chances he created in the knockouts led to assists for him, but he is powerless of that because he needs his teammates to tuck them away for him he can't do both. Let me ask you this: How many chances did Sissoko create for his teammates? What was his pass completion rate then? Payet's was over 80% for example. Sissoko was over hyped and has always been overrated even before the euros. I am very thankful the media did exaggerate his performance so greatly though as it's landed our great leader Rafa with an extra few million to spend on players. Buzzing with that. Also if it hadn't been for Payet's goals and assists France would have finished the group stages with just 2 points. Still sure they would have got through? They wouldn't have been playing with 10 men. That's like saying that if Messi wasn't playing for Barca the year he scored something like 70 goals they would've scored 70 less goals than they did Yes but if you look at how badly the team played against Romania they surely would have lost that without his assist and goal. No doubt he won them that game. Then against Albania it was another shit performance by France but he got another goal and assist to win them that game. He was rested for the next game and they failed to score. The Albania match possibly somebody might have stepped up to take his place and score a winner alright, maybe Griezmann would have found another way of scoring. We have no way of knowing. The fact remains though from what did happen that he was instrumental in all four goals that avoided some really embarrassing results for France. I've already said he was really good in the group stages though. I just think players should be judged on what they do against the better teams rather than the lesser teams. How many of those chances Payet created in the knockout stages were against Germany and Portugal?

It's the final and semi final we've been talking about though
