Nigel de Jong isn't that bad really. In international football you can go a long way with 1 or 2 brilliant players. Robben was basically Holland's only attacking threat once Van Persie did his usual knockout stages disappearing act and they nearly got to the final

Read about that Midtjylland team Southampton are playing earlier. They were only founded in 1999. Their whole approach is based around stats and they have this massive database that ranks every team in Europe. Basically a Moneyball strategy. Seems to be working for them
