Normally, but decent managers tend to have players in to at least review after a defeat
-
He's done here now unless he totally dominates the SPL from now on....January can or will see him easily replaced by someone better
-
They will know as much as us at the minute. I've only ever seen those 'within the game' being completely right once....and that was Phil Thompson on Jose Enrique transfer. Could have been a guess, but he was pretty much spot on with it. Given the average intelligence of the usual suspects it'll be a case of he said, she said, but he said, then they said, but someone else said so it must be true
-
And still manages to show more class and professionalism in one question than our 'manager' has in two and a bit years
-
Wouldn't say a bad decision, but more a decision ultimately forced on them. Without someone already lined up and ready to go, a week is no time at all in recruitment...could take longer than that to even get a response from someone. Given the skeleton nature of the entire club staff, keeping someone on till you can replace them makes perfect sense no matter how terrible they obviously are. It would not surprise me if they were told to find their own way to Charnleys office on day 1 rather than being taken there by a staff member.

Each and every player will have their head messed with....not because Bruce may or may not be leaving, but more because they will have to either start justifying their wage/performance ratio, or start looking for new clubs where they wouldn't get half of what we pay them
-
This must be a detail thing.... Every rolling contract i've dealt with means that if its a 3 yr rolling, then there are 3 years left every day until notice/termination is served. Obviously we don't know specifics, but having to pay out a full 3 years would explain the 8m figure if the mini-steves are included
-
A nice romantic idea, but would be like dragging Frank Bruno in to the ring vs Fury in todays world. As good as he was for us, even in 2008 it was past his time. Enthusiasm and passion simply doesn't cut it anymore
-
Always thought rolling meant that there was always the length of the contract remaining. Sir Bobby had a 1 year rolling one for his entire time here Suppose it depends on the details
-
"Well ya kna. Obviously new owners are here, and they might want a change, but i've dusted myself down, rolled my sleeves up and am ready to show them i can do it my way. Ill get some extra bacon ordered for them, and they'll see my experience is invaluable"
-
Just means that every day he has 3 years left on his contract
-
No, that includes the other Steves too
-
He will. Seems to have something about him which makes him perversely appealing though. Has improved his current club so they've once again overtaken Celtic, and not been a complete disaster in Europe. Could probably do a good job with us in the medium term.... Actually no. I could take charge of Rangers now and get them to first or second in that league, as i am happy to suggest most of this forum could.

Pretty sure there was a graphic like this before where we hadn't even spent that much, and it was 10 times less Norwich where we'd only spent about 800K rather than 8m. Essentially just enough to pay the water and electric bills and sod all else

Surely a piss take? When a manager can only win 7in 37 that's a relegation manager. Even Fat Sam or Woy would be better options for a few months
-
Exactly. If anything it would be a PR win as it shows that one good result doesn't atone for a season/career of garbage, and they've got a vision of more than the end of the next week
-
This! Some people need to appreciate that there isn't always some massive agenda behind everything. (discalimer...doesn't mean there isn't!....pass me my tinfoil hat)
-
No different to his normal offerings. He was happy to rip the living s**t out of the rich 6s ESL project without trying to be funny.
-
Well that maybe does ask some questions of our players. Maybe they're simply not as good as we thought? As an aside...if i could afford it i'd do it anyway as it just seems like a good idea. Footballers, thicker than 2 short bricks
-
Christ he looks so old there...not that I've paid much attention, but Sir Bob looked better than that for Shearers testimonial. Time to retire Steve. Think you're a crap manager, but don't want you to die because of it
-
He's not rattled. He draws cartoons about current affairs in football. He's good at it, and we all enjoyed when he was ripping the s**t out of Bruce and Ashley. He works with his subject matter plain and simple. We are currently subject matter, but its still just a cartoon.
-
Don't get this Jones love at all...despite his influence were still a diabolical team to watch, and his record isn't great at all. Being marginally better than Steve doesn't make him any good. Yes he impressed enough to make the England coaching scene, but the fact he left almost immediately after the tournament should show he's nothing special. If he was the FA would have tried to keep him He should be out the door with the Steves. We don't need a failed league 2 manager running a team in the top level

I'd sort of like to see this just to see if there's the same hysteria about it
