Can't believe we've raised 26 Million pounds via Carroll, Shelvey, and Ince Echo saying we definitely won't be signing the greek defender of Schalke. Wonder who's the back up plan. Leverkusen also pull out of talks to sign Toby Alderweireled.

Independent has stole the story from Bild. and Bild's story is 3 days old. All the Russian, Ukranian, and Armenian journalists are saying Mkh' move to Liverpool will be completed in 72 hours. A bit of a clusterfuck, but I trust them more than Sam Wallace and Bild AKA "Draxler 60M + 12M/yr salary Thank fuck I'll be on the plane all day on monday. hopefully by the time I land, this is finalized. This window is shaping up quite nicely so far http://i.imgur.com/Xm5OIiT.jpg

Looks like missing out on Gary Hooper for 9m in Jan was a blessing in disguise.

Stoke finally sign a natural fullback. after almost half a decade.

How do you rate GrandOldTeam Neil ? Saw a thread on rivals, and I think a GOT_Meltdown twitter account would do wonders . Saying not a single Liverpool player would get in their team, and they should be concerning themselves with City and United as opposed to Liverpool and Swansea.

Maybe half of that. The other half was Liverpool cancelling the fee of a player that Portsmouth had previously bought from them as their club was heading towards financial ruin. Aye, Crouch. As for Courtois, he signed a 6 year contract, and next year half of it will be over without him playing a game for Chelsea. I can't see him signing an extension as Cech is still only 31.

Bruma goes to PSV for 3M. Chelsea is a weird one. They buy promising youngsters for massive fees (paid 5M for 16 year old Kalas a few years ago), loan them out. 2 years before their contracts expire, they sell them. Make a minimal profit. Rinse and repeat. I suspect the same will happen with De Bruyne and Courtois. I wonder what the point is. It's not like they are in need of those marginal profits they make over 2-3 years.

He contributes to 20+ goals per season from LB position. That's ridiculous for a fullback if your name isn't Dani Alves. Definitely worth over 10M. Plus, 29 is by no means old, still has 3 years at top level minimum.

Anzhi has had a 35 million euro accepted for Mkhitaryan. The player rejected them. Anzhi project has been a total failure. No trophies, no CL football, Eto'o contract expiring next year, Bombings going on in Makhachkala last year during a game. Hiddink tactically out-smarted by .

Really hope it's not us. No matter how big of a talent Deulofeu is, I absolutely hate loaning players if an option to buy is not there. We aren't Barca's development academy and hope we've learnt from the Sahin farce from last season. p.s. one of the reasons Barca didn't take their option for Luis Alberto, was that they had Deulofeu playing in almost the same position and direct competitor, so it'd made zero sense for either party. We need to figure out some good loan spells for Suso/Sterling hopefully, because with no Europe and Rodgers not being much of a "rotator", I can't see them getting enough minutes to develop. About Mkhitaryan, apparently our competition are Chelsea and Dortmund. Tough on paper, but beatable. The lad isn't arsed about money, actually sleeps at Shakhtar's training ground. Doesn't have a girlfriend, doesn't really watch TV either. Just committed to play football and wants first team action. Armenian journo said he prefers LFC move, so fingers crossed. Poor Eriksen, he appears to be second choice to Mkhitaryan by all clubs interested in him. Shakhtar bought Alex from Brazil today, I assume that will be Mkhitaryan's replacement. They are apparently favourites for Bernard too. The stumbling block appears to be the 2 Armenian businessmen who partially own him, and that kind of ownership isn't allowed in England (unlike Italy or Spain). So all interested clubs have to deal with them too. I think this will drag for a while, and I think that's why the club got all the other "smaller" deals done early. So for rest of the summer, they could focus on the marquee signing (Mkh) and the Suarez saga. How the hell do you get owned by other people in football is beyond me though. Utterly ridiculous.

Agreed. Why didn't this happen then? You both sounded so certain! Football is unpredictable

watched an hour long HD video of all 1998 world cup goals....15 years ago, but I remember it like yesterday (Despite being 7 at the time) It actually feels it's not the same sport anymore. Salas-Zamorano, Laudrup brothers, Desally/Blanc/Lizarazu/Thuram, and BERTIE FUCKING VOGTS managing Germany. Christian Vieri though. extremely under-rated player. Best Italian striker of the last couple of decades.

Brazil will maul Uruguay. Uruguay have been incredibly inept for 1.5 years......Suarez can't carry them all the time. Brazil 4-0 Uruguay.

so that's Higuain to Arsenal then. Tevez will do well in Italian league. I reckon 15 league goals for him. Fiorentina and Napoli are strengthening as well, whereas Inter are stuck with their senile board and disastrous transfer strategy.
-
How highly do you rate Spanish Segunda as a league mate? Considering he scored 11, and had 17 assists at that level, I don't know how the league compares to Championship for example. Never seen him play, so can't judge. But he'll be replacing Shelvey in the squad whom I expect to be sold for a similar figure.

I think the fans of other teams haven't noticed, but Rodgers totally abandoned the possession football philosophy mid-way through the season. We switched from 4-3-3 to 4-4-2 (Not Pardew's version) after signing of Sturridge and started playing counter-attacking football quite often. That doesn't of course mean, we stopped passing the ball, but our build-up plays were a lot quicker. When we played your lot in April, I am sure MOTD showed you had more possession than us in that game
-
Of course, we wouldn't be able to attract a player of his calibre and talent at our current position. On talent and ability alone, he is a top 10 player. I think, if use the money of his sale properly and spend it on 2-3 young talented players, we'll grow as a team. We were the 3rd highest scorers in the league last season (without Sturridge and Coutinho for half a season), and Rodgers said he wants to add 20 more league goals to the team, so I suppose the plan is to spread the goals among the team. Arsenal did that brilliantly last season after selling RVP. Mkhitaryan seems to fit the bill in that sense. Re Coutinho: I agree. I think all the front 4 players will have the freedom to interchange, so a fixed position won't be set. It's the style Pellegrini has played throughout his entire managerial career, using Cazorla as LAM , and I can see us doing the same to Coutinho. Fixture list is out on monday, right? I hope for once, Chelsea don't get their usual piss easy start to the season.

Hadn't felt this gutted for a "neutral" team in years. Hope BVB come back stronger.
