    Sunderland

looking forward to a creative thread title following events of today !
  2. Tata won't be happy with this .... amazing how Iceland now are by far the best Nordic team. Comfortably better than Sweden/Denmark/Finland.
  3. Scenes in Serbia. Drone flying over the pitch with Albanian flag...Atkinson stops the match, Koralov catches the Albanian flag, Albanian players rush into him to take it away from home, players s tart fighting and pushing each other...then all staff invade the pitch as fans are fighting each other and the police. Typical Eastern European derby.
  4. In a recent interview with Polish media...Lewandowski was shown the video the American guy in Cali (Brian from whatever channel) pretending to be Lewandowski and going to girls and try to pick them up (Quite successfully as well, though 90% had no idea who he was). Polish interviewer tells him: "Not many people in States knew you before you went to Bayern, as you can see in this video". Lewandowski all in smiles saying: "Hey, but he collected quite a lot of numbers I can see.", the interviewer goes on saying: "Shame those numbers didn't come to you.", and Lewa says: "Probably for the best"....seeing his wife has black belt in Karate
  5. Anyone else reckons the atmosphere of the game is more important in making it entertaining and watchable than the qualify of 2 teams. like...let's say Red Star Belgrade is playing Partizan Belgrade with flares, mini-bombs, unreal rivalry going on...noise all around the stadium vs. Bayern Munich and Schalke playing in an empty stadium due to fan behaviour with no noise at all. I think the former is a lot more watchable. It's different when the team you follow is playing, but when it comes to neutrality, I think the atmosphere and setting takes priority over anything else.
  6. ^ Did you miss yesterday's game in Warsaw man? Much more entertaining than 80% of Prem/CL games so far this season. Romania-Hungary was pretty decent too. Estonia are good, not proper Eastern European..but still good. Drew Holland in WCQ in Tallinn, think it'll be closer than most would imagine.
  7. Title winners in FA Women' league for the second year running :frantic:
  8. N-O XI will probably stand a chance against these.
  9. Just heard Ranieri is new Greece manager Incredible atmosphere in Bucarest. Amazing loud crowd and a bomb thrown in every 5 seconds
  10. Teams like Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan should have their own competition, not cut to play at this level...will make Euros boring. bla bla yawn yawn
  11. Boyhood Liverpool fan from what I know, but then, that's quite common among Norwegians . Seen the link to Barca. Looks insane in Stromsgodset clips I've seen. Be interesting to see if he plays for the NT in the upcoming international break, but fuck knows that Norway team needs some inspiration. Born in December of 1998 Reports saying Victor Valdes is going to have a medical at Anfield next week and could sign during the international break, providing he passes it.
  12. ^have you seen Liverpool play lately though...was fully expecting a 0-0 draw
  13. Stevie G has been man-marked out of games by himself at the base of the diamond. a 2 allows him greater flexibility to get around the pitch. His lateral positioning is also poor and easily exposed when he's the only deep midfielder. Sakho's looked horrible whenever I've watched him. He looks to have all the ingredients physically to be a top CB but he's terrible whenever I see him. He has a 50p header on him, it just goes anywhere. Otherwise I agree with some of Rodgers mistakes. Markovic & Lallana played in high tempo teams last season but they seem to move and think slow as anything now. Mario's always been a bit ponderous with bursts of explosiveness. On Gerrard point: By playing the 2 completely kills Henderson. This is what Hodgson did at the WC and made them both look shackled and shit. Managers should be able to handle players and do for good of the team, see how Garcia is using Totti. Gerrard doesn't have to start every game at age of 34.5 . Changing the system to help one player, in sacrificing plenty of others is detrimental. Though Allen is very important to the diamond and i'll be shocked if we don't revert back when him and Sturridge are fit. On Sakho, it's a press narrative like Mbiwa. I recall reading "It's criminal someone like Mbiwa is playing CL football" the other night, from those who probably only recall watching him getting slaughtered by Sky Sports after the 6-0 game and made their mind up on it. Sakho is another victim of that, despite the fact that we concede less goals and chances with him on the side and he's had less direct errors leading to goals compared to Skrtel, and a lot higher forward pass accuracy. This guy keeps Mangala and Koscielny out of the French team and bosses Varane around there.....yet somehow finds himself below Kolo Toure in packing order here, because Brendan for some reason has a massive hard-on on Skrtel. He hasn't been anywhere as good as his NT form for us, granted, but still a damn sight better than Skrtoure. Though press narrative has their "Clumsy big centre back who can't pass" on him, despite him actually having better pass completion rate (forward passes to feet of midfielders...remind you of another French CB?) than majority of PL CBs. Well, he'll be gone soon and look a lot better elsewhere. On Tempo, yea, this is where Suarez is so missed. Say anything about the lad, but he set the tempo for rest of his teammates with his immense pressing and led by example by defending up front, sort of giving extra energy to his team-mates. Still, it's no excuse to look so laboured. @ Kaka: Well, sometimes I've got to live up to that username. George loved a good hyperbole, didn't he
  14. Rodgers making some very very odd decisions this season so far. - Abandoning a working formation (4-4-2 Diamond), and keep playing 4-2-3-1 which suits none of the players, restricts Henderson and Sterling, and Balotelli is no way a lone striker - Lack of use of subs. We've been playing 2 games a week for 3 weeks in a row now, and barely ever he's used all his subs and squad - Management of some players. Sterling has been ran to the ground and it showed tonight. Half game rest vs. Villa and then playing 120 Mins vs. Boro and then for some reason he stayed on tonight. Playing Gerrard 90 minutes of every single game and never subbing him , etc... - Playing out of form players with hope they find form, while clearly ignoring those alternatives in the same positions... - Bringing back the Slovakian Steven Taylor (Skrtel) who continues to cost us a goal a game. Not to mention picking up an unnecessary feud with Sakho. All in all, he has had a woeful month. Trying to be too clever for his own mind. Pardew-lite this month...really need to up his game in October, because the double-header with Madrid looks grim. Considering WBA have been the best set piece team in the league this season, and we're even worse than Newcastle defending them, it could be an uphill battle on Saturday. He's 41 though and first time dealing with a big squad and such fixture congestion, but f***ing hell, 6 games of utter s*** with 4-2-3-1, time to re-evaluate it Brendan. He can't keep blaming the individual mistakes in defense and set pieces, and then Pick the culprit of all (Skrtel/Mig) game in and out. Thankfully I've been ill and out of sorts this entire month, so haven't been 100% involved, but it still sucks.
  15. Watching the game live.....this guy certainly looks angry at Pardew. http://i39.servimg.com/u/f39/17/10/96/59/screen17.png
  16. Ferdinand is reaching Titus Bramble level by every passing week.
  17. ^ Wolfsburg are quality, wouldn't read too much in it. Europe is different gravy as proven that even Barca struggled to beat APOEL. Been watching Gladbach vs. Villareal really nice end to end quick stuff. Surprised Copenhagen vs. HJK is still goalless, any of our resident Finns can see who is likelier to win that one ?
  18. Think you should change that signature line about Isla mate. In fact, any QPR player other than having a useless bench player for cheap is disaster for everyone. Teams who concede plenty, and score little. Absolute AIDS for fantasy purposes.
  19. Finally cracked the top 10. A decent clean sheet for Chester tonight and the world would be my oyster. I think Dzeko's turn is done. A couple of smart changes for next week, and top 4 should be achievable.
  20. just realized the last time I saw Liverpool beat Villa at Anfield, I was still in high school (missed the game in 2010 under Hodgson for some reason). 1 win in 6 seasons against Villa at Anfield. Fucking nightmare of a game every single season. Recommended a friend new to betting to go 4-0 Saints after reading your stuff in the pre-match thread, the fucker didn't listen. His loss. Bitter-sweet weekend all around
  21. Can't believe Wenger turned down signing Fabregas for Ozil. One different planets.
