They will probably sell him in a year or two.

You’re absolutely right but it’s very tricky to do. Most of the clubs are perfectly happy with the current system as they don’t have any ambition to compete they are just happy to ride the valuations up and make money doing the minimum. If you let the shackles comes off, then the threat from below appears as ambitious people can buy up championship clubs to compete with. These rules were never about protecting clubs from bankruptcy no provision in the rules exist for such cases as demonstrated by Everton. It’s a stitch up pure and simple.
-
The valuation will apply to the sales price, I’d imagine the management contract is tricky maybe it’s why this hasn’t been approved yet. I think the irony is we’d get absolutely destroyed if we tried this. Isn’t it odd they still haven’t been punished for the breaches the reported themselves?
-
Loophole in the rules sadly, it’s very specific too. I can only tip my hat at the genius of it personally love a double dip.

Confirmed to Chelsea 4 year deal.

Ineos own them right? Will be an interesting test for related party Transaction rules

So what? You are basically asking for Purity tests as you want to restrict memberships. As I’ve explained basically every club in the league has a membership whereby it’s a pre requisite to be a member to buy tickets. Personally speaking I’m against that fans should be able to buy tickets without this additional tax. Truthfully, if our matches weren’t sell outs every week would you feel the same way? You wouldn’t care right because why would you? I think lobbying for a stadium which can accommodate all fans regardless of being a lifetime supporter or not is something we can both get behind in this case

I don’t know all the details but I can imagine the situation can be gamed in such a way whereby you can actually breach and end up benefiting.
-
I don’t know the details of the case but ultimately if you get banned from the champions league whilst PSG didn’t your failing somewhere along the line.
-
Don’t get me wrong I’m perfectly happy for everyone to have different positions, it’s apart of life but i would prefer if they were honest about the intentions of the positions taken. If you want to restrict membership to increase your own chance of getting ticket just be honest about it. It’s just annoying because if you draw a ven diagram of people who don’t want a new stadium and want to restrict memberships it’s a worryingly large cohort.

That is precisely what others club do, so sure we could not do it but unfortunately FFP dictates we have to. Ultimately as fans we are mere custodians for the next generations who’s job it will be to preserve it for the generation after them, it’s why the gate keepers who want to restrict everything and create artificial hoops irk me.
-
Need to rename this place to gatekeepers online.
-
But this achieves nothing, you make something more convoluted for what reason exactly?
-
To be very frank, as we’ve seen with Chelsea and city the rules are full of loophole; the fact we haven’t taken advantage of any should demonstrate we might want to temper our expectations.
-
Probably but that probably involved being in breach forever. The point being made is if you hire good lawyers and sell the story as well as kick the can for years your good.
-
No we couldn’t. It stills falls within the scope of FMV.
-
I’m not sure but it’s important to understand the punishments given by Uefa are much less draconian than what the EPL gives out. As I keep mentioning psg lost 600m euro over the last 3 financial years and that’s valuing the dodgy sponserships at full value, and what’s the punishment for these unprecedented losses? Supervisory measures
-
Of course it would Ian ffs. You need a membership to buy a ticket if our current number of members out strips our available tickets by x amount by your theory your suggesting the rest of the members aren’t real fans and are just taking a punt.
-
Nor should they, locking fans out of the club they support because some people feel entitled is monumentally stupid and destroys future growth.
-
The accounts don’t reveal FFP calculations. And yes, my IF is doing a lot of heavy lifting intentionally so.
-
If our situation is so dire that we need to sell one of our jewels then our ownership is totally incompetent.
-
Yup it’s a perfect demonstration of how FFP is actually work. Protects club? No look at Everton. creates an even playing field? No if you compare historic spend since the start of the PL era both ourselves and Villa spending would pale in comparison
-
70m, the thinking from the scouse is the FFP issues we are seemingly have will force us to sell. To be frank just take the points deduction it won’t cost us 30m even if we lose 10 points.
-
The rule is changing to squad cost ratio soon though, which is even better for the established big clubs.

Eh? Arsenal spurs Liverpool Brighton and a few others are absolutely loving life.
