I think, since the PL has come along, and then the Champions League and the financial divisions that causes, the premier league is divided into different types of clubs. There are those who can compete for the title realistically, or to get to, and stay in, the Champions League. There are those who traditionally are considered to be doing well to even be in the top flight (West Ham, Stoke, Albion, Swansea etc) There are those who have recently been promoted, for whom it is all a big adventure (Leicester, Burnley, Palace) Then there are those who are pretty much always in the top flight, who have - in the past competed for league titles - but now find themselves in a situation where it is impossible to even think of doing that any more - Villa, Newcastle, Everton, Spurs (no matter how they'd like to think otherwise) It is the fans of clubs like those four for whom the Premier League is the biggest killer. Just staying up is right at the bottom of expectations, haven't just been promoted so it isn't all a big adventure any more, can't hope to compete (unless they get insanely rich owners who fancy a go at it) - basically, stuck in a "it will never be like it used to be" rut, and in some cases run by people with sinking ambition. Not cool. the sad thing even this can't happen anymore not with FFP rules and you can bet UEFA would come down like a ton of bricks on any "upstart" club trying to pull it off now and premier league has those rules too so the guys already at the top would probably demand points deductions on any side who tried that trick to kick them out of their cozy little club. Of coarse the media would think we should all just be happy bathing in the reflected glory of the true elite All FFP did was pull up the ladder. Limits on how much, in percentage terms, you can increase your wage bill by year on year favour clubs who already have massive wage bills, for example. Exactly, it drives me insane that people don't see this and see ffp as a good thing.

It's a damn shame talkshit binned the European football show all them years back, Marcotti, balague, honigstien and Laurens (iirc)

Dunno Ronnie, all he has to do is keep us up and Ashley is happy. I think we will struggle badly if he's kept on but the amount of dross will see us safe. I'm 100% sure that if Carver did as s*** as Pardew has over the last couple of years he wouldn't have stayed in the job. Hasn't got the smarmy bullshitting skills Pardew has nor can he keep his temper when criticism comes his way. I'm not so sure, it appears all Ashley wants us to keep us in the league at minimal expense. If Carver can do that the job will be his imo

That'll be Carver then

Coloccini's best mate was treated terribly by Pardew when he had a cancer, yet Coloccini defended him publically to preserve his own position in the side. He certainly wouldn't want to risk an astute manager coming in and taking him out of the side. Take him out for who? He will probably end up back in Argentina at the end of the season anyway. No chance he's walking away from that contract. He already had chance to leave and he didn't take it.
-
No chance we will resign him though but I assume it's possible.
-
Don't think we can mate Iirc we've released him from his contract.

Fuck off man, you know I do as well. I just think we can get talented without the likelihood of incarceration.

How so? I don't get this comparison really. Nile Ranger had multiple chances at different clubs. by all accounts morrison refused to share an agent with Big Sam and got frozen out. He blew it at Manchester United and has blown it at West ham. Similar criminal convictions to Ranger too. Wide birth for me, not worth the potential headaches. Could have said the same thing about Carroll, he's doing alreet now isn't he? Howay man, Carroll fetched 35 million and proved himself to be a good premier league player. morrison has done neither. Again, do we need the headaches and s*** he brings? At the time he wasn't. Convicted of smacking his Mrs iirc. Other assault charges as well. Does that not count? Academy product who proved worthwhile for minimal outlay. Morrison is none of those, and you've disregarded my other points man. No doubt he's really talented but he's got a screw loose and keep himself out of trouble. No. I'm saying Carroll was on bother when he hadn't made it, but he eventually grew out of it. So what's to say Morrison can't do the same? It's possible he can but I wouldn't take the risk. Our dressing room is flaky enough as it is.

How are finances amongst the teams flip? I'm sure I read a couple of years ago the TV deal increased am I correct if so what impact are we seeing on the standard of football etc?
-
A North east derby, a possible tilt on Europa league places, regional pride and bringing some pride back is nothing to play for. I hate football in it's current entity it's completely loathsome.

We don't have the quality to beat Burnley and Leicester Christ, what am I listening to man.

By blokes who never pay for tickets Winds me up, these people are paid by you and me to spout absolute lies. The only thing which makes John Carver qualified for the role is the Uefa Pro License he holds which incidentally most managers and assistants hold at that level.
-
Describing something as written off when people have spent hundreds of pounds on season ticket is disgusting as well.

Luke Edwards can f*** off. Absolute f***ing t***, what a Carver circlejerk this s*** is

Not a canny lad at school?

I just pointed out a few things... 1. Abusing fans and offering to fight them not becoming of a NUFC manager 2. Worst 3 subs I've seen made (Burnley) in watching the team for 32 years 3. His record of 12 wins out of 40 games (Toronto) was very poor and his temporary spell of 4 losses out of 5 for Leeds along with not managing anything of note in his 7 game spell whilst AP was banned to the stands. 4. Asked him to back up why JC should get the job other than the fact he is his mate. 5. Disagreed that we should see the season as a write off to Luke Edwards as only half way through it and could still make Europa (or get relegated!) if we got Garde in and not JC. 6. Justified why I thought we should go for Garde and expressed my believe we could persuade him to start ASAP. Looking forward to hearing them flail trying to answer you 1. Do fans not want to see passion!? 2. Far-fetched 3. It's a poor standard league which I kind of pointed out that makes no sense 4. Didn't have anything to offer iirc but did admit he was his mate and wanted him to get the job 5. Luke Edwards just kept repeating that there was nothing to play for and no chance of making the Europa as if it was a fact in that way that journalists like to do. 6. Agreed Garde made sense then cut me off as I was about to call Howey out on some other comments he made Cheers lfee, given the complete crock of shit they replied with I think ill skip listening in.
