One unsubstantiated rumour on the internet and this is the reaction
-
They’ll get battered next week as well
-
Tom1988 has things to say if people would listen but they won’t
-
Do you ever have a day off?
-
If there was a change it would be Iraola for me. Plays a 4-2-3-1 which I think Newcastle need to transition to. Likes to play an aggressive press and quick transition which wouldn’t be completely alien to our players. Like his background as well with Vallecano and Bournemouth, seems a bit of an underdog which fits us as a club imo
-
Body language of the players will be very interesting imo.
-
Sure I read / heard he had been renting shearer’s house but has since bought a property, possibly last summer
-
Thought that was purchases? Sales you can just book the value straight on I think
-
Geordie journos have grown on me in recent times don’t mind their stuff. No idea how reliable Kennedy is but he’s absolutely adamant over Tonali, just a hunch but I think he’s right. Edwards has been shown to be highly unreliable tbh
-
All boils down to wages, when we can start paying the money it will take us to the next Level
-
Sell early, and move in the market. The fatal mistake of last summer was to let the Isak situation drag and cast a huge cloud
-
This is a recent thing mind, because usually bottom half teams are meat and drink for us in recent seasons.
-
I really need to switch off this summer. Can’t stand the sight of Jacobs, Romano etc
-
Don’t think he’d cross ours either Alonso. I think out of all the possibilities Iraola is an interesting potential. Think he’s done a great job at Bournemouth and plays a style suited to Newcastle, and a 4-2-3-1 which we need to transition to imo. Would he be better than Howe though is no guarantee
-
To grasp any morsel of negativity and run with it, his MO
-
I’m all for a bit of a clear out. Just not Bruno or Hall. Would be too much
-
Seen a bit of a narrative creeping in that we’ve always struggled against bottom half teams during his time here due to low blocks. Complete re-writing of history that, the opposite is true, one of our biggest strengths has been putting away these teams home and away. Reality is we’ve lost a cold killer up front and not replaced him, our attacking quality has dropped off so much and it needs sorted
-
You’re blaming him for the summer window
-
The transfer business has been exemplary since the takeover bar last summer, that wasn’t all Eddie Howe, that was Staveley and others driving it. Now it’s gone wrong it’s ALL him? horseshit tbh. The leadership and direction at this club has been abysmal. Doe he not get any slack at all at how the club have handled it? It’s all him aye? He’s not blameless, but the business we do can’t fall all at his door man, just say you want him out then
-
Did he get his first choice players?
-
It wasn’t for that season though. Turned out that way. Best one was January 22, Burn, Trippier and Bruno
-
Fair enough but that’s murky. Is that his job ? I’m not so sure. I’m not absolving him totally but I think you said yourself in an earlier post that the general malaise at the club should take the blame and I agree
-
Who’s he? Eddie Howe? Or did he want Ekitike and Pedro? He did and the club failed. He will rightly need to take responsibility for today and the season but to level criticism at him alone for the summer is pure madness tbh
