He f***** himself during that Spurs game in May with the red, lost the managers trust despite playing well in that game and scoring a good header. His 4 game ban meant he was out of the picture and his season has never got going, I still think there is a player in there but his days here are numbered. He looks very sluggish and for whatever reason can't seem to get his head straight on the pitch, letting league 1 defenders wind him up is case in point.

Pace is one of the key things needed to break a team down who sit deep and just defend imo. Being slow, ponderous and having no pace makes it easier for a team. This lad is obviously quick, never seem him play but no reason to disbelieve a lot of people who say he's s***. Hopefully at the level we are at he'll be a decent addition until May.

This attitude of "he left us so f*** him" is nonsense imo. His attitude and application while here was first class and clearly the manager was getting the best out of him. Aye, he's made a mistake and it's pretty obvious that his move to Palace hasn't worked out. But if Benitez likes him and wants him around then that should be good enough.

Still suprised that this could be happening, would be a great signing. Rafa seems to really like him and he just seems a good fit in how we want to play. Townsend and Ritchie either side of Gayle, with Shelvey and one of Diame/Perez in behind would be fantastic, not to mention Yedlin's pace on the right. We would be able to stretch teams far more easily, please happen.

If I was a betting man I would have a bit of that....still very likely at this point because we are not convincing despite yesterday's scoreline. Difficult games coming up and a couple of decent signings would make it less likely... It's 'very likely' we will finish outside the top 2? Of course it's a possibility but it's unlikely. Given our current points tally, goal difference and squad. History suggests 2 points per game will see you home, well on course for that.
