if we don't sign anyone it's completely on us - we can afford it. Thick as f*** if we don't sign a couple this window, Rafa obviously wants to. From what I can remember a lot of our business in the summer came out of the blue, Diame and Clark certainly did and I can't remember days/weeks of speculation before Ritchie and Gayle either. We seemed to know players were on their way for definite about 24 hours before they were holding a medical. I'm hoping it's the same this month, we seem to want to keep our cards very close to our chest.

It's pretty simple imo, we are missing Shelvey. He started his ban on Boxing Day and since then we've looked a bit flat footed and lacking a spark. Let's be honest, it took Forest to go down to 10 before we got a grip of that game and even then it wasn't great. Benitez and his tactics have won us the most games and we've scored the most goals, I think people over complicate things. Shelvey is back soon and we will bring in at least one addition to midfield to help drive us forward. I think we will be absolutely fine come May.

If we lose this game - or even draw it - we can start having to worry about the Play-offs... Give over man, half the season to go yet. We've won the most games and scored the most goals. Things aren't perfect but we are at the top for a reason, we have the right manager and our squad are a good bunch Read - my - lips....we have lost FOUR home games and the season is only half over...good sides would not lose more than 4 games at home over the whole season, let alone half of it. Our goal diff advantage was because of one freak result at QPR - how many goals did we concede at SJP whilst losing to the 4 sides who beat us...? also, if Darlow hadn't been in such excellent form yesterday, we could have conceded FOUR without reply. We are top UNLESS Brighton win tonight and then we won't be...fail to beat Forest and they will stay there too - that is also for a reason(maybe they have better players in crucial positions...?). Our players may be a 'good bunch' as far as you are concerned, but they are only a 'good bunch' if they get the club back into the PL - where it should be - next season. Too many of the good bunch are not good enough on the field and won't be at the club much longer. We DO have an excellent manager but he is not a miracle worker and can only work with the material at his disposal. We got beat, calm down man. We will all be singing their praises again in the not too distant future. As for losing games, we could lose loads more this season and still go up. We are a good side at this level, despite the games we've lost. It's December, the question of who is good enough or not is for another day If you think we could lose 'loads' more and still go up you are not watching the football most of us on here were watching yesterday...and have watched for most of this season. I disagree with your analysis. Fair enough, yesterday was poor but it wasn't our season. A lot of our football has been excellent this season and we've scored a s*** load of goals. We've played some great stuff this season, a defeat like that is raw and bitterly disappointing but he will get it right I'm sure of it. Still ahead of the 2 points per game that you normally need. Think we will strengthen as well

You can tell a performance like that was coming after the first 20 minutes. No need to panic but it's an issue that we can't seem to awake from our slumber at home when we start badly, today, Blackburn, Wolves etc

It's difficult to question Benitez with how things have gone, people's opinions of course but when we win again this will die down.

Great this. Palace fans now thinking "he's not that bad, we've had injuries, Chungy didn't pass the message on at that corner, he's one of our own, he loves the club". Plus buys him basically until the new year and beyond.
