April will be a massive month, our performance today had nothing to do with us saving ourselves for that, we really were as bad as people are saying. We just sat back and let them do anything they wanted to do with the ball. Everything about today was poor and I do wonder if the 3 away games have taken something out of us, we'll see. Aye them 3 away games seemed to have completely drained us physically and mentally, we need a free week to re-group.

Whos that? Refereed our cup game against WBA last time we were in the Championship and he was terrible Wasn't he worse than the ref we had at Forest in that cup game? Can remember how Hughton going absolutely off it at him, and he's usually a calm bloke. If anyone was at the West Brom game in the FA cup in 2010 they will know. Single worst refereeing performance I've ever seen for a Newcastle game, I would include the Forest ref in that. These are the weakest side of the 3, pass the ball around but don't do much with it. Should be perfect for our style away from home. We can freshen things up a little bit by bringing Perez in, Yedlin back in at RB and Gayle will probably start. 2-1 win

They have absolutely nothing about them bar Defoe, he was unlucky not to score today.

We got could get this all but done in the next 3 games. Think we'll beat Fulham at home as well, they will play football and are a better side than most in the league which suits us. We usually take care of them games and with Gayle back we will score more goals

Liable to get another howking this weekend though. On a bad run already, can't defend; hard one to turn around. Key for those down the bottom is who has games at home to Stoke, West Ham, Watford, Saints in the run in. At least the mackems aren't facing that this year. On the surface, they have a nice late run of Bournemouth, Hull, Boro, Swansea but they're all fighting..... unlike those Everton bellends last year. Heading into the last 5 games you want to face the likes of Stoke,West Brom and West Ham. Totally midtable and carefree. I reckon Palace will get a result at West Brom today

We're a better footballing side and we are much better tactically now imo. Although 09/10 we had probably a squad that was bizarrely more suited to Championship football (Nolan, Carroll, Williamson, prime Enrique, Lovenkrands etc) guess it shows how well Rafa is doing with this group.

Most of the championship is really poor in terms of quality but to "piss it" over 46 games you would need quite a lot of quality in your squad, a big squad as well. No guarantees they would have either.

Murphy was really effective when he came on, he wouldn't have been nearly as half as good had he started as Brighton's CB's would have got the measure of him imo. Guess if Gayle is still out I'd go with the same starting 11 as last night and bring Murphy/Mitrovic on.

No great concern. Dummet is a good marker and will relish the test. However because of this I think Rafa will want to double up so we can forget about Atsu, even though his defensive work rate was quite impressive on Saturday. In games like this Dummett is the least of our worries, games at home vs s**** a different matter. Lacselles remains our biggest worry in defence imo

Think we'll play well, be really hard to break down, take a lead which we hold for about an hour then concede. Hang on for a 1-1 draw. Think we will do Huddersfield and Reading Edit - we will of course miss chances to make it 2 and bemoan missing Gayle
